How about the optimist who said,"Boy its going to be a S*itty day?
Of course the pessimist would have to agree for once.

Your additions are helpful because all of them are - ah - full of something. Some folks can 'poop' it out faster than others.

From the National Institute of Nuerological Disorders and Studies: "Narclepsy is a chronic brain disorder that involves poor control of sleep-wake cycles."

That is my basis for its' use in the joke referencing it. I see no conflict, but will not belabor the discussion...so long as you know my basis for its' usage.

BTW, you think you are the only one under the burden of confusion?

Nothing like adding to some confusion. Narcolepsy - I thought it was a problem where you could just drop off to deep sleep while apparently performing other duties. Oh, oh - now I know there's a little more to it. Just was checked for sleep apnea, no apnea - so I am to go back to be checked for being a narc - I guess.

When you are speaking words, you really have to be careful of proper pronunciation. For instance here's some rhyming words - catalepsy, epilepsy, lithotripsy, aeroscepsy, and nympholepsy. Some of these have interesting definitions.

Based upon the definition of narcolepsy, my confusion continues.

I thought confusion was the main-stay of this thread.

Congrats. You finally made it after all these years. I had a similar experience. However, it happened in the fourth grade. I was the only kid shaving.

Yep, but it had a good ending. He stuck with it, prayed for others, and Got back double what he lost. All but the kids. 8 kids is too many kids unless you have goats.

Now 8 grandkids would be ok..

Totally agree, grandkids are fantastic - until they are old enough to know when to start asking for money (but even then, you really love them).

As for goats, yep, their kids will help keep the grass down. The trouble with them is they are usually on top of every building - hopefully, the house is too high or those sharp little hooves may do a bit of damage.

Nothing like adding to some confusion. Narcolepsy... (show quote)

Just returned from another granddaughter's graduation.

To ease the confusion...I should have used 'insomnia' instead of 'narcolepsy'. That term would have been more accurate. I understand AuntiE's confusion, and admit to mine.

Lucky you, what a proud time for your granddaughter and family.

Don't give insomnia or narcolepsy too much thought - they're both a problem, but people live with them and adjust accordingly. Life goes on, and that's a good thing.
