I don't know, Peter. Why don't you head up there yourself and check the accuracy of this report? Take a first hand gander at it, get the 4-1-1.

But bring warm clothes -- the last couple of "liberals" who went up there were so sure the reports they had were accurate that they went ready for nice early spring weather... and had to have their toes amputated due to severe frostbite.

The first photo shows the Arctic covered primarily in old ice (ice that is 5 years or older). The second photo shows the Arctic covered in ice that is a season or younger. The reason for the change is because the ambient temperature in the Arctic is higher overall leading to the loss of all of the older ice. Eventually, as the ambient temperature continues to rise, and it will, all sea ice will be gone--though it will still get cold in the winter so you should bring a coat and gloves.

Oh, and if there is anything that is incorrect than explain what it is preferably coupled with links to back up your logic. If you can't do that then find another thread to get lost in...

No, just give it until the next cooling period and the ice caps will return. These changes have been happening naturally, temperature variations, etc throughout Earth's history.

You can post all the photos, graphs, charts and alarmism you like, but you prove nothing of an anthropogenic nature.

Why can't you get that through your head already?

So if a comet is bearing down on us we should do nothing because mankind had nothing to do with it? Yes, "these things" have always been happening but we have 7.7 billion people now, the majority of whom get all or most of their water from glacier ice melt. Now in the northern hemisphere, the majority of glaciers have melted--the US has 10% of what we had in 1900--so we are rapidly using groundwater and praying for rain.

You people can put your head in the sand all you like but in your children's lifetime, these problems will have to be address else we will become a society where you have to be wealthy simply to survive. Not even you cons will be able to survive without water--not to mention the ambient temperature that our bodies wouldn't have evolved fast enough to adapt to.

Yeah, "these things" happen and so does global extinction. This won't be the first time all life has been wiped out--I simply hope this won't be the last...

A comet bearing down on us would very likely not be anthropogenic , smartass.

However, that doesn't mean that c*****e c****e is.

There has been no conclusive evidence of man's activities affecting the global climate, only "conclusions" that ignore the fact that Earth has endured a plethora of volcanic, diastrophic, solar and extraterrestrial batterings (meteors, etc) and the planet has seen numerous extreme temperature changes in its long history, most of them long before man ever built a spontaneous combustion engine, recovered any petroleum or ran a factory.

Suddenly, climate conditions that are exponentially milder than a great many in the past, that actually created massive changes in life forms and terrain, are man-made?

Sorry, guy, but you've been suckered by a purely politics based h**x.

For some reason, I'm reminded of a Peanuts strip where Charlie Brown, reading, tells Linus that "It says here that the first steamship crossed the Atlantic in 1819," to which Linus asks, "Were there people then?"

What you don't understand is the cause doesn't matter and your mockery doesn't change anything. We are currently doing nothing to prepare for what will be catastrophic change within the lifetimes of our children and grandchildren. We owe them a better world than we are handing to them. That is the only thing I am trying to say...

It's happening right now so it's not a matter of waiting. And life will always try to come back. If not for an asteroid 96 million years ago the relatives of dinosaurs would be running right around now and we would not be here. And there is nothing that says this world is ours. If we screw it up to the point that our form of life can't exist then the next form of life, wh**ever it might be, will take over. We have forgotten just how lucky we are to be here. You, of course, think you have a god given right but with nature, there are no rights. We are here as purely a matter of luck. If we fuk it up there is nothing to say that we have any rights to a do-over...none!

And you are arrogant enough to think that man has any control over what happens to this earth? Exactly what are you going to do to save us petey bird. One volcano eruption spews mega tons, way more than all of mans production. BTW, plants love CO2.

I notice that you guys never speak about the sun. Now tell me what you think we need to do to save our planet. What politician do you think is qualified to correct the problem? I know what the politicians are saying. They want to tax the hell out of us and k**l all our jobs and when its over they will claim they did something for us but in reality it will only have helped them with more power and wealth.

And your argument, based on the linked upload, continues to revolve around the so-called "given" that man is causing c*****e c****e.

So, essentially, "given" that there has been no convincing argument to support the anthropogenic c*****e c****e theory, how would one go about "preparing" for the catastrophic future you envision?

The earth has only had polar ice caps about 33 of the last 100 million years. How could anyone possibly know the significance of polar ice changes over such short periods?? There have been at least five major ice ages in the Earth's history (the Huronian, Cryogenian, Andean-Saharan, late Paleozoic, and the latest Quaternary Ice Age). Outside these ages, the Earth seems to have been ice free even in high latitudes. Any warming would seem more the norm, but that just doesn't fit with the alarmists worries. Face it, civilization hasn't been around more than a fraction of a blink in geological time. We can't change it and we also can't stop it. And who knows what the various thousands of years oscillations will bring in that gradual warming. In case you haven't figured it out, we are still in an "ice age."

Are you saying that throwing a bunch of taxes at the problem will make the earth cooler? Can you show where any program has had any effect on the warming cycle?
