I said, "Their footprint dwarfs the rest of the world and they use coal more than the entire rest of the world." From the link I gave you, China is the largest in terms of cO2 emissions and uses more coal than the rest of the world combined.

AOC and a good many l*****t nut cases said we have 12 years, last year. Don't tell me you didn't know what she, Beto and others are saying.

But, you're right about China and the US, we are the biggest producers of cO2, no doubt, but we still do not KNOW that CO2 is the cause of the warming, ESPECIALLY since the ice cores show CO2 levels to rise AFTER warming and since the mid 90's there has been no significant warming.

You are right that China and India are not "exempt" but, they don't even have to do anything regarding their emissions levels until 2030. The US was expected to move immediately to alter our emissions which would cost us jobs while China continued to rake in gains economically, all the while still c***ting us and stealing our technology.

Your ratio is also wrong..

Or any other nations?

The "best" climate? It is expressed in limiting the world increase to less than 2 degrees Celsius.

maybe to late for that, but it remains a tipping point..

There is no basis what so ever to say that a 2 degree rise is the tipping point. Not one bit of science to back it up.

China and India were and are not exempt in any meaning of the term.

If fact those two nations are making the largest investments in renewables in the world.

This year, emerging markets will overtake developed nations in terms of the amount of renewable wind and solar power they have installed, according to Moody’s, the credit rating agency.

In the decade to 2016, the amount of solar power generated across the world has risen by 50 per cent, while wind has increased by 22 per cent, according to BP’s annual review of world energy.

While developed economies have been leaders in the development of renewable power, much of the recent momentum has come from developing nations — and from China and India in particular, which are now the biggest and the third-biggest renewable electricity markets, respectively.

Swami Venkataraman, co-author of the recent Moody’s report, said: “Countries such as China and India [are] leading the charge, as new renewables become competitive with other sources of power even in developing nations.”

I don't know, Peter. Why don't you head up there yourself and check the accuracy of this report? Take a first hand gander at it, get the 4-1-1.

But bring warm clothes -- the last couple of "liberals" who went up there were so sure the reports they had were accurate that they went ready for nice early spring weather... and had to have their toes amputated due to severe frostbite.

The earth does go through variations in weather. It has since time began, let that sink in. Do you see a new ice age? Or a vanishing of the old ice completely? If not I have a nice conspiracy site that should keep you busy.

It's not our "use" of coal but the fact that we mine it and sell it to countries like China and India or any other rising country. As long as they need it and we have it, we will sell it. When there is no need or market for it, the coal industry will go away.
China wants it pretty bad as fires, floods, and explosions in mines k**l about 5,000 every year in China. They just pay off the widows because it's cheaper than improving safety. Also, a report by the World Bank in conjunction with the Chinese government found that about 750,000 people die prematurely due to air pollution. We are working on it, but coal is not over yet.
