Your brother had excellent taste. Aquinas is also another favorite of mine. I read a quote of his the other day, tried to post it as my “signature line” but it wouldn’t fit.

I like this. Good exchange. I hunger for this. You had me search Aquinas quotes. He was brilliant. Interesting that today I am not so overwhelmed by his mind as I once was, yet maybe it is I that have lost something. No matter. I like this: "Wonder is the desire for knowledge." For me, wonder is the whole key to loving God and being in the world. Wonder is a knowledge of sorts, purer than thought and reason. Marrow humility. I wrote this a while back and made it an unsuccessful thread here: 'Wonder charms the shyness out of God." I h**e to explain it but with true wonder of life and creation, God steps out from behind the curtain. We can clearly see his hand...and even a smile. We are as little children. Sorry, waited so long for this opportunity got carried away.

I think after acquiring a certain amount of knowledge, it only appears that we have lost something, my belief is, appearances can be deceiving. I find myself with a slight advantage here, it is my understanding that I am considered to be quite young by OPP standards, I still find myself awestruck by his brilliance.... “Love takes up where knowledge leaves off.”

Happy to have provided an opportunity. No need to be sorry...

Enjoyed our exchange.

Carter was our most decent and Godly president, Kennedy our most inspirational, but hands down FDR was our best; he did more than any man in history to protect the world from the evils of c*******m, the excess brutality of unbridled capitalism and the tyranny of f*****m.

For once you are right!!
But Carter was a nitwit, weak, or in fear of what to do. Plus he dismantled the military.

Reagan was quoting Puritan John Winthrop's lecture "A Model of Christian Charity" delivered on March 21, 1630 when he spoke of America "as a city upon a hill, the eyes of all people are upon us." President Kennedy also spoke of our native exceptionalism in this way in a speech in 1961 and the phrase has been used repeatedly over the decades by many to declare our Constitutional existence as that endowed and blessed by the Creator.

Our representative needs to be the living personification of that vision, of our ideals, principles, values, and laws about liberty and a government by we the people as God granted to all. Not a perfect person, of course, yet one that consistently strives to personally incorporate those things in him- or herself and his or her actions in office. The matters of state may make this pedestal a difficult seat to hold. Yet always he or she will act for what best serves liberty and justice for ALL.

Remember, the eyes of ALL people will be upon him or her. So, name a candidate. Please give the reasons for your choice.

Trump, as there is no one running to compare.

The Democrats have no one.
Most Socialists are self serving crumb gobblers.

That Buttgagag scares me. He's a very good speaker and hides behind center left. Sumbish is as socialist as any kommiecrat, but he'll sell dreams like Obama did, and then govern from the hard left, just like the other gay president did.

I'm torn between Trump and a muppet. I often write v**e muppet, we'll get one anyway. Seriously, I guess Donald J Trump, although most here are just as good. He just has more exposure to international intrigue. There's a newscaster, not Trace Gallagher, a guy with more experience. I'd opt for him over Trump.

???? Trump is the best president ever, along with Washington and Lincoln. America was flailing as much under Obama as America was flailing during the civil war. Trump has America back on track, economically, socially, and internationally. A v**e for anyone else is a v**e to topple America.
