You're making a problem out of something that isn't. You have to make decisions. Every time we are faced with temptation we make a choice to give in or not. That involves our will.
I am on a subway platform in New York at 3AM alone in 1976 and no one else at that stop. Suddenly, six young men approach me with the colors of Pujar Loco. A little background. At that time, 3 white young men had been found beaten to death in the tunnels. What do I do? What decision to make?
I said to myself "God help me" and this utter calm descended. That was the only decision there: God help me! No thought of any resistance or escape. What had to be the leader of the little group walked up to me. He just stared for a minute or two. I gave this little head nod I did not order from my brain. He smiled and they walked on past me. My own understanding of that situation and what to do would have almost certainly gotten me injured or k**led.
The decisions we make are not, never about, about what we are confronted with, for the situation of the world never changes.
