Radical Islamists come from all sects, the most populous sects are Sunni, Shiite, and Wahhabi, so it is no surprise that most of the bad guys come from these three.
Pew Global Research polled Muslims around the US, in Europe and in countries throughout the ME The poll centered on determining the level of support for terrorism and radical political efforts to impose Sharia. I don't have the stats at hand, but a surprising number of Muslims who are not involved directly or indirectly with terrorism are luke warm to hot on the idea. The imposition of Sharia rated even higher.
You're not going to be able to weed out the radicals by going after sects. There are peaceful, moderate and radical Muslims in all sects. Moreover, it would be a direct violation of the 1st amendment to pass laws controlling religious beliefs.
In addition, the Muslim Brotherhood has established 28 different associations, societies, and activist groups to operate in the United States. One of these is the Muslim Students Association. The MSA has chapters in 132 American colleges and universities, with chapters in all of the major universities. These are activist groups who hold to Sharia Law and promote it on campus. You have perfectly outlined the problem with doing anything about Muslims in America. My point was, then why complain about Islam if you have no solutions to stemming its influence and growing threat of power. Too many just rant at how terrible Islam is and their fear of Sharia Law overtaking our justice system, or how it is not really a religion, yet offer zilch, zero, nada on what to about it.
Some here have offered their opinion on practical solutions. Do you have any?
