I remember the toys of that era. Had a Steve McQueen sawed-off rifle that shot white plastic bullets. My friend had a Bat Masterson belt or holster with a derringer in the buckle. Press the button on top and it swung out and fired a cap. We had a lot of gunfights and no one ever died but our pretending to deserved an Oscar or two.

I walked around in cowboy boots, cowboy hat and braids from 4-6 cuz I was Annie Oakley

I just posted a comment about Wanted Dead Or Alive with McQueen. I wanted one of those so bad! It's called a "Mare's Leg".

I've given up on regular and cable TV about 2 years ago. For movies I use Netflix & YouTube. I now get all my music from YouTube and have discovered some really good stuff I would never had found on radio. I was about to give up on Netflix also until recently I tried a couple Filipino & Chinese movies and was very pleasantly surprised. If you can handle subtitles I recommend you give them a try, some really good stuff and available also on YouTube.

There have been a couple good Chinese movies these past few years.... And some of the older ones are good too...

Have you seen "A World With Thieves"? It's my favorite... excellent story and acting...

Instant Family had Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne. A really nice family movie. Haven't seen The Circle yet. We RedBox rather than dump a fistfull of cash at the theatre. We like all kinds of movies. We even watch movies that Hollywood imbues with progressive story-lines, because we see it for what it is and just digest the entertainment. Some recommendations:
Can You Ever Forgive Me - Melissa McCarthy plays biographer Lee Israel.
Free Solo - Alex Honnold attempts to successfully climb the 3,000 foot tall rock face of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without a rope. Even though you know he succeeds it's a great movie.
Gosnell - Might be hard to watch, but it's an important film about the prosecution of a******n doctor Kermit Gosnell.
Sicario, Day Of The Soldado - The sequel is every bit as action filled as the original.
Annihilation - SF, but very good compared to a lot of what is put out now.
I K**l Giants - Story of a young teen girl living partly in a fantasy world to cope with what's going on in her real life.

I could recommend many more but I think that's a good cross-section.
Instant Family had Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne. ... (show quote)

Thanks... I have seen the last one.. Was ok... My wife is looking for Annihilation... We both enjoy scifi...

I wanted one of those worse than I wanted a Red Ryder BB Gun

In my mind, I WAS Steve McQueen.

It's so difficult to find good SF. I watch a lot of bad stuff looking for that occasional gem.

I think the word "cool" applied to a person was because of him. James Dean wasn't around long enough. Loved his movies.

What made it really neat was that if you shot someone he can't say 'you missed'. At about ten feet it would make you say ouch.

"That's the biggest bug I ever saw" is a quote that stands out to me from that movie.

Proof that a great movie can just be an in depth story about someone. Nevada Smith was good as well. And granted Yul Brynner was the star but Magnificent 7. Bullit of course. So many others. Papillon, The Getaway, Great Escape, Le Mans, Hell Is For Heroes.

I think so... It was made in Hongkong... Andy Liu stars in it... Excellent actor... Though his Recent movies haven't been great...

Yep... We rarely make it past the thirty minute mark.... Was very disappointed by 'Ender's Game'... Waited decades for them to realize the potential of the story... Big fail in my opinion...

Would love to see a Ringworld movie.. But hope they put proper effort into it...
