Hi... I'm Kyle...

I don't watch much TV (Except GoT...My wife has me hooked) , but once a week I do movie night with my wife... Usually she chooses... In the past month she has stumbled upon two gems...

The first was "Instant Family"...
Not sure who starred in it... But it was an excellent script... And it ran me through the full range of emotions... Joy, humor, anger, sadness, despair, hope, indignation, vengeful wrath... And quite a few others.... I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys movies without a lot of guns, explosions, sexuality, or fart jokes.... Two thumb up from me

The second was "The Circle"...
It starred that girl from the Harry Potter films...
It involves the way large corporations like Facebook or Google are influencing our society... And how they operate...The script wasn't as good as it could have been... But I still enjoyed it... Only one thumb up

My wife and I have really begun to despair at the quality of movies coming out these past few years... We have even cancelled movie night a time or two.... And often fail to finish the movies we start...

So what are your favorites?
And have you watched any gems lately?

I will certainly give 'Instant Family' and 'The Circle' a look. I was only vaguely aware of either from past, brief trailers.

Kyle, this is Hug. We have the same problems. When we watch TV we find a series of some kind, often on Netflex or Amazon. I like BLUE BLUDS, probably because when I was a pup in the last century I worked on the Kansas City Police Department.

I have not seen a good movie since Lonesome Dove. I wish the Westerns would make a comeback. That is television that I enjoy

At least the accurate ones. I noticed that some of the older westerns had the characters wearing clothing that never existed, and using guns that had not even been invented at the supposed time of the movie. I remember one set in the 1820's when they were using weapons that weren't invented until the 1890s. Movies supposedly set in Kansas that were obviously filmed in Southern California/Arizona because that's the only place Saguaro cactus grows. They could at least edit the obvious screwups.

Series are difficult for us..

My wife enjoys The Big Bang Theory.. But I can't get into it...

I used to like Sci Fi... Tried the New Star Trek... That was a waste of an hour...

I'll give Blue Buds a try... My wife enjoys police shows...

Thanks

You two must be referring to 'Blue Bloods,' starring Tom Selleck. It is one of our favorite shows.

Hi Smedley...

Must admit to being curious what sort of movies float your boat...

Other than dated Canadian cartoons of course

Good stuff. Gunsmoke ran a long time. I remember The Rifleman as well.

Maverick was one of the only ones my mother allowed me to watch as a boy... She h**ed anything with guns...

Mel Gibson is another actor I enjoy... A couple of his are quite good...
