I grew up on Gunsmoke -Dead or alive--Bat Masterson--Have gun will travel--Roy Rogers -Sky King --Maverick and etc. I still love those shows. My wife watches Project Runway so that's when I leave the room lol
I preferred 'The Rifleman,' primarily because it spoke to a father & young son's relationship, although all the ones mentioned were/are good.
My Dad was absent from my life 'til I was an adolescent...mid 60s.

You two must be referring to 'Blue Bloods,' starring Tom Selleck. It is one of our favorite shows.
YES, BLUE BLOODS. I AM TOO OLD TO GET UP SO EARLY.

Sorry, but between "Blue Bluds" and "Blue Buds," I was getting confused.
One of our favorites

At least the accurate ones. I noticed that some of the older westerns had the characters wearing clothing that never existed, and using guns that had not even been invented at the supposed time of the movie. I remember one set in the 1820's when they were using weapons that weren't invented until the 1890s. Movies supposedly set in Kansas that were obviously filmed in Southern California/Arizona because that's the only place Saguaro cactus grows. They could at least edit the obvious screwups.
About all I ever watch is old westerns, and I've noticed things like that myself. It doesn't bug me, I think it's kind of funny. I still enjoy them in spite of the mistakes.
Ever notice how rifles, pistols, and shotguns have the same report, and no recoil?
Everybody gets shot right in the stomach? Lol!
Even the "indians" horses have trimmed, and sometimes shod hooves.
I like many of the old shows mentioned here. Today is the first in my change in work hours, so I miss out on coming home to see a couple of episodes of Laramie with John Smith, and Robert Fuller. That Robert Fuller sure could shuck a six gun fast back in his day, and my wife likes the way he filled out his britches.
And for Coos Bay, when I was in early grade school, I had a metal "Guns of Will Sonnet" lunchbox.
Remember those lunchboxes that came with a glass lined thermos that was more fragile than a butterfly wing?
Open Range is also a favorite of mine.
As you can see, I am confused.

I blame it on fat fingers. Even though I'm skinny. I'm too proud to admit that I put my glasses down, and forgot where I left em!
