The MAGA slogan is an utter disgrace and patriots should mock it

This thread started with a response to another thread about unaccompanied children being deported. It starts with my post to another member.

You said, "Eric Holder when, discussing the slogan MAGA, asked the question "when was America ever great?" My fervent response is, when wasn't America great? That is what repulses me about that slogan. It degrades America. It is a lie. It is chum for the discontented h**ers to feed and attack. A d******e and scurrilous assault on this "great experiment" that has worked for over 200 years. Even through a Civil War and many differences. MAGA is an insult to every patriot who has live and died for this country. It is an indictment against all our great strides and tribulations to make our nation a "City upon a hill," as Jesus said in Mt5:14. MAGA is an egotistical jingoism of the privileged. Petty, at its finest. There are news items about people wearing MAGA hats getting harassed, kicked out of restaurants, cursed; you would to if you could see. That slogan stands for the worst in this country.

What has and will always make America great is freedom of the press and that, despite all the wealth and political pressure, all the special interests and prejudices, we will eventually right our wrongs, no matter how it hurts. No other country can say that. American exceptionalism! To insult this fine and glorious march to be what our founding fathers envisioned, maybe what God envisioned, by a nation of laws, no matter how slow or faltering, is an utter disgrace. I would almost say an act of s******n but whoever invented MAGA was too stupid to know our history.

If you believe that this country is seated at the zenith of its greatness today, then you have a very loose grip on reality... and no comprehension of history.

Freedom of the press is only of service to the nation when it provides t***h for the people to evaluate. T***h has been missing from the American press since the focus on adjectives and adverbs replaced that of nouns and verbs.

As for this country being today what the Founders envisioned, you couldn't be further from the t***h and it can't be much further from their vision.

No kidding, pointing to the freedom of the press is absolutely rich in this day's propaganda machine atmosphere. Freedom of the press IS important for a free society. That is exactly why it is so important to call out these political hacks posing as journalists, advancing one false narrative after another, and outright lying to further the left's, (their own) abusively biased agenda

If you bothered to read what I posted, you would not see a single hint or allusion that "this country is seated at the zenith of its greatness today." We are and perpetually will be a work in progress. That is our greatness!

Freedom of the press is the very foundation of American exceptionalism. When denigrated and attacked as not providing the t***h for the people to evaluate by the leader of the Free World, attacks our Republic and weakens our democracy and suppresses movements of freedom in the world. All the advances in liberty in this country came through a Free Press. Read about it, educate yourself before echoing Trump. Only with a Free Press will this country survive, prosper, and change for the better. Dictators h**e a Free Press. They will undermine it every chance they get. Why? Because they will not be bought or stifled from telling the t***h. Google freedom. Just that. And every article and reference will talk about the utter importance of Free Press. Trump wants you to think it is corrupted, an "enemy of the people." That is exactly what despots do.

I don't think it should have been freedom of the press, It should have been honesty of the press without an agenda. The press, including Fox don't give us news they give us what they want us to believe. They don't even try for t***h and haven't since Cronkite looked America in the eye and said we had lost the Tet Offensive and could never win the war. The Tet Offensive we had wiped out the Viet Cong and the NVA had 55,000 k**led or wounded. The North was ready to call it quits. How many Americans lost their lives between 68 and 73 fighting a war we won after that battle thanks to a lying media and ones as Kerry and Fonda. Fonda's treason got our POW's beat to death Freedom of the press? When hell freezes over. Until that time they need to be held accountable.Dig up Cronkite and k**l him again.

Simple logic; if we are not now at the zenith of our national greatness then we must strive to get there. We have been there in the past so MAGA.

Freedom of the press is hardly the foundation of American exceptionalism. The foundation of American exceptionalism is the indominable American spirit propelled by the belief that in America, anything, everything is possible.

Even if Press freedom was at the root of American exceptionalism, more than two years of lies, (or incompetence to be kinder), from the MSM hardly qualifies as beneficial to the people.

You have totally fallen for the propaganda that always leads to the end of every Republic. The Media gets its wrong sometimes, and sometimes horribly so. But it is vital! We can then correct our mistakes. Arguments about the Vietnam "conflict" will linger forever. Leaning one way or the other on that question at that time is understandable of both sides.

While I believe that America is heads above most of the rest of the world,I have to say that I have noticed a decrease in our country in the past 25 years[not including the last 2] Politicians who think it is ok to promise the world and serve a mud pie, only to promise the world again[holy football Lucy and we believe them!!]A steady erosion of our individual rights, our rights as a nation and an ever expanding government that wants to dump our nation as a second class nation into the direct control of the UN under the cries of "one world government." Constant assaults on both 1st and 2nd amendment rights. And to top it off ,not only do we have a constantly growing group of "Czars" ,but an increasing amount of regulations, taxes, inspectors and seizure without courts, frequently"because they want to" and often contradicting themselves so you could not do it right if you wanted to. This is not great as those of us wuith businesses find ourselves choked out of them.
Enter President Trump. The first President in memory who has made a solid attempt at keeping every promise he made. Wiped out regs, departments andpaperwork and started to put us back to where we were working, jobs, bringing businesses back to USA,. We actually almost have the capacity that if we would lose the Golden Gate to an Earthquake-WE can rebuild it with steel from here rather then waiting to get junk steel from elsewhere. And I could go on. But that is the definition of being great again-being able to do it ourselves-not having to wait until the stuff comes in from overseas because we do not have the capacity any more.

It was all part of Trumps effort to destroy anything and everything Obama. The implication is that America ceased to be great when we elected a Obama for president. I would argue that America ceased to be great when we elected a man like Trump for President. As for MAGA it is so much vomit on a stick. I do understand why some found MAGA a needed slogan. Good people. But they have been mostly duped. The Right created a threat that the Left was everything Conservatives fear. Like whipped cream? Michelle Obama will have you arrested. Own a gun. Black helicopters will appear in the middle of the night to take it. State a Right Wing opinion, there are FEMA camps all across America meant to incarcerate "patriots." It is Kafkaesque and grotesque. Silly, if not for such diehard passion in believing these absurdities.

I guess our press is a matter of opinion. Right-wing media is set up to give conservatives the news and information that they want to hear. Anything that strays from that won't be believed and ignored even though it may well be true. To the conservative t***h isn't relevant and the only thing that matters is that all news and information agrees with what they believe--be it true or not...

MAGA is pitting the US against biodiversity once it's begun it can't be stopped without holding up everything but even if everything could be restarted why would it be different after say a few thousand years later.

But hay! BS aside Trump leading the army to save anything is like saying mice following the Piper can have a happy ending.

Furthermore just check out any of the pundits in the Russia China
camp they raise up Trump to being the greatest US President ever, ( Cross Talk on Mueller Report Criminal FBI ), that's one amongst many, why when they oppose the US in every instance on every issue?.

As I've said before the Orientalists think he's incapable and so the best man for the job, as it turns out he is, incapable.

The difference between my point of view and theirs is that they want to see a bloodbath (limited engagements) which the US will lose.
