You fail to recognize states rights vs. Federal Gov't rights. Majority rules at the state level on all things in the state's constitution. Then local towns within each state can follow or add in areas not controlled by either federal or state constitutions. The Federalists Papers explains all this. It seems you have never taken the time to study for yourself.

Generally, the rules in the senate require 60 v**es to pass. The equivalent of 30 states. That is much more than the simple majority. They do have rules that the senate leader controls. For example when your former senate leader Reed changed the judge v**es to a simple majority to get some liberal and feel good judges on the SCOTUS and stack some of the district courts in liberal areas.

I find it hard to believe that the democrats keep trying to destroy the constitution and rule by the whims of today. Pay back is a b***h!

Key point is we are a conglomeration of 50 states that each individually have their own laws that are not covered by what is given to the federal gov't by the constitution.

Yes, states can have their individual laws but they must be supported by our federal constitutional law. Another words, they cannot be in any way against our Constitutional rights, that takes precedence overall.

Absolutely right! As Ben Franklin so bluntly put it "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb v****g on what to have for lunch."

Seen this?

I think it describes the different political systems very well, and provides a new outlook on the differences.

I was only kidding about her longevity, no nastiness intended. God bless her, she's seen a lot come and go. She must be doing something right.

Neither the soviets Nor the North koreans practice/d full democracy...

Neither did the Greeks...

I am actually having trouble coming up with a single example of a society that practices full democracy....

Perhaps it would help if we defined what a complete democracy is...

There are quite a number of flaws in this video, created by who? What credible person?

Thanks for emphasizing that. Absolutely correct in vast majority of situations.

Destroy the constitution? The constitution has been amended any number of times without resulting in its destruction and as you pointed out it takes more than a simple majority to make any changes. And if we look at the last e******ns where conservatives prevailed it was by losing the majority so your only hope in maintaining power is by antiquated principles of the constitution. My suggestion is that it's not the constitution that you care about but your only hope at maintaining power. It's power that you seek which is no reason to leave the constitution unchanged...

Looks to me that the real destroyers of the Constitution are the progressive l*****t liberals

North Korea is not worth mentioning...

America, in that it gives a v**e to all adult members of society and allows for multiple parties and even individual candidates to run for office is closer to a complete democracy than any of the above mentioned nations...

Yet it is the only "democracy" that has adulterated the one person one v**e concept.

You consider centrist judges who would not see eye to eye with the hard right side of the bench to be liberals. The bench needs more centrists, and it should be a standard and rule, and would if it takes a 2/3rds v**e.
