I like the way you think.. Cuts to the quick...

Marxism calls for a complete democracy... But it has never succeeded in implementing one.. The Soviets certainly didn't allow for it.... And the North Koreans have almost no say (Except for a select few)..

I think this argument is much like the socialism one going around...One side appears to be dealing in absolutes, while the other is dealing in grades....

No one would deny that America employs democratic methods to elect its officials... And that it is via the democratic process that policies and laws are brought into being...

Hope that you are well....

how a Republic works as opposed to a Democracy.- Good Luck!

Hey, Kyle,
Hope you are well. I actually read some time back so this is just my memory of it. It was the Greeks I believe. Everyone v**ed on everything with a white stone or a black stone, white meaning yes. The article said that everyone took a turn in government with no "career" politicians. If I remember correctly, their civic duty was for one year. I may be wrong and I may have it mixed up, but as I remember it, I'm right on it.
For the sake of argument, let's just say that my memory is accurate. In this society, the majority always rules. Everything would be fine as long as the minority was happy. But, let's say that the minority is the minority ALL the time. Pretty soon, the minority would be pretty unhappy, because they never got what they wanted. Let's say that the ruling class, (the majority), didn't like the minorities and they v**ed on a law that prevented any minorities from owing land. What recourse would the minorities have against such a law? None.
This type of stacked power does not happen in a republic such as ours, because all people are represented in government, not just the biggest gang.
A prime example is the E*******l Collage. Without it, states like Alaska, Vermont, Maine, Rode Island, ect., would never have a voice, just like in the democracy I just described. Let's reverse that situation...without the E*******l Collage, California and New York would pretty much select every president, due to large populations and dominant liberalism.
Would that be fair? No...It would be almost impossible to elect any president without California and New York.
Kyle, I apologize if my memory failed me, but it's a good example anyway.
I've been pretty busy...I rode my 3 wheel homemade bike at the park where I work on Friday night, and I went back and played my homemade instrument, a diddleybow, on the bridge over Chattanooga Creek, a good 2 nights.
Your Friend,
David

Hi friend David...

Your weekend sounds great..
Not sure what a 'diddleybow' is, but music is great for the soul...

I think your memory is pretty good... Although there was only a small minority in Greece (landed owning males) who could v**e.... It had its successes and its failures...

Might be possible for small, isolated populations to pull off (say a city state) but certainly wouldn't be preferable for a larger country...

Personally I think the E*******l College is an excellent idea... I have always viewed the US as more a collection of individual nations, rather than as a single political entity... But that seems less true as time goes by...

Hope you continue in your joy... And that your diddleybow playing is better than my singing

Your friend, Kyle

Neither the soviets Nor the North koreans practice/d full democracy...

Neither did the Greeks...

I am actually having trouble coming up with a single example of a society that practices full democracy....

Perhaps it would help if we defined what a complete democracy is...

What we have in government is what all governments end up as:
A few in control of the rest.

Take a good look around what we have here in the USA.
Most of us just blame each other for our problems.

What ever we what & we get what we want we can call it what ever we want.
What ever we end up with it will have to leave room for most of us to have what we need.
Once we all have what we truly need we can look for ways for every one to get some of their wants.

This all needs to be done on the run so to speak.
The need is to preserve that is good with what we have now.
Only making changes that help more to be a more important part of the whole.
It is as if the dream people have needs to be reasonable & possible to archive.

Call them what ever you wish.

A "complete democracy" is in no historical record that I can find. My understanding of the way in which the word has been bandied about in the Twentieth Century by the teachers in the public schools is to replace the word "republic" in the mind of the student. When the phrase "make the world safe for democracy" is uttered, the automatic thought is that only the Democratic Party can do this because of they are the only ones sympathetic to the "lower classes of people" unlike the "rich middle-class Republicans. Yet our Pledge of Allegiance "Is to the f**g and to the Republic." The "education regulators" are responsible for these revisionist tricks.

I never heard teachers say make the world safe for democracy that was said by our leaders who led the country in to WW-l and when the CIA was over throwning democratically elected leaders such as Salvatore Allende in Chille in 1973, Diem in South Vietnam , Sukarno in Indonesia 1965, The list is massive and making the world safe for Democracy was a parable for MAKING THE WORLD SAFE FOR US CAPITALISM

Much of what has taken place in the past seems to be missing from some that have answers for todays problems.

Not to worry, I'm doing fine. I just get busy with other things sometimes.

Democracy, even though it doesn't appear in the Founding Documents, if severely limited, does have a place within our United States borders, language and culture. However, democracy has been and still is being greatly abused by the Socialists, the bleeding heart Liberals in particular; they want Socialism at any cost to the country, even if they destroy the USA to get it. Illegal migration is probably their greatest and most effective tool to achieve their c**p, hence their obstructionist approach to President Trump and the border barrier, wall or fence, no matter that the invasion will further bankrupt our already bankrupt welfare country! If we fail, where can we run? Which country do you think will provide us refugees a place to emigrate to? I can't think of even one.

As to the laws our Republic under our current "Democracy" creates, there are far too many written into the books for personal gain and gratification - - many being totally unnecessary for a "good life." I tried, but failed, to determine just how many laws were on just the federal books, but no one could come up with a figure, and it seems these congressmen write about ten thousand new laws every year trying to justify their positions and take care of their cohorts and constituent contributors. There are so many laws on the books now that if anyone wants to nail someone else for nearly anything there is a law on the books that a clever lawyer can find to use to their advantage and get them punished or incarcerated. We have become a country of outlaws because one simply can't make it through a day without breaking some law somehow, even if it is just a speeding violation or peeing on a tree in your back yard if someone wants to push it.

It appears that we are all now "guilty until we can prove our innocence!" Our Founders are spinning in their graves like a top! We have way too many hungry lawyers and judges, but they seem to be the best that money can buy. Rumors and appearances are everything under our Politically Correct Orwellian Deep State Establishment. My question is: just who is qualified to say I'm right or wrong? The Ten Commandments have turned into the Ten Suggestions, and they are mostly ignored anymore. We supposedly live under laws of mutual agreements, but it seems no one can agree anymore. We are the most litigious and jail-happy country in the world IMHO.

As we move closer and closer to Socialism, we devolve more and more toward tyranny and dictatorship. Do we really need another King? Our country, by moving in this direction, only follows history, and if we continue toward these historical trends, we won't be the first civilization to fail under Socialism. Cicero, back in the times of the fall of the Roman Empire put it very well when he said: "The evil was...the willingness of the people to sell their rights as free men for full bellies and the excitement of games." Well, the Deep State Establishment has covertly and effectively provided us with "full bellies" (our nationwide obesity problems), and the "excitement of games" (our extreme obsession with "Professional Sports"), thus distracting us from their nefarious agenda, and we are now well on our way to destruction! To help us along, we also have Big Pharma and the Drug Cartel keeping us just well enough to work, and just sick enough to want to buy their poisons, but we should go out when the time comes on a hallucinogenic high with a smile on our faces! As TV keeps implying, we must be the sickest country on the planet, and their profuse commercials listing nearly every pain or symptom known to man that we might think we feel, they keep pounding us to: "ask your doctor," or "tell your doctor!" Damn, I'm s**k of them!

Thank you for your concern about my well being. Have a great day.
