Wow, You were jobless, hopeless and with no options for 8 long years???

What planet do you live on???

You b***h about COLA and President Obama in the same sentence and now you say you were not blaming obama?? Sure, you weren't.... do not hold back with dumb stories, the rest of OPP right winger never does.. crazy claims every day of the week..

You do not like health care? Bet you are wishing for trump don`t care..

But think hard, that was not a plan, it was only an attempt to remove the ACA..

Would you be happy to cast your fate to the money people who refused to pay for expensive procedures, pre existing conditions, put a limit on life time amount they would pay and raised your rates every year anyway?

A sudden end to the great recession??? That is something I have never heard before even from the OPP right wingers..

Minnesota was one of the leaders and we had near 4% unemployment even in 2010/11, It was world wide and very deep..

Only the leader ship of President Obama kept it from becoming a full blown depression..

While I am sorry you and yours were so far behind the rest of the nation, you should be thankful for President Obama or your problems would have been much worse..

Now if all the middle class had gotten the gifts the richest 10% did, we could all be happy..

Course at my age, it matters not a bit..

I sit in my golden rocker and spend my well earned retirement as I please. Thank you very much..

may the good Lord shelter and protect you.. you must have it coming..
Wow, You were jobless, hopeless and with no option... (show quote)

Wow, that was quite the rant. But, no need to go to all the trouble.

I know what I saw around me when obama was in office. I saw two of my siblings struggle financially solely because of the passage of the ACA, as did many of their neighbors in their rural/small town community. It may have helped some people but it hurt a lot of people, too. That is a fact. And they suffered a double whammy due to the low unemployment, which in these small communities takes a great toll. Why do you think Trump got elected? Don't bother to answer. It would just be more delusional excuses because no one on the left wants to believe that the obama years were so dismal for a lot of middle America .. and, more importantly, no one else cared about middle America.

But, hey, I get it … from your comments:

Obama: everything good, utopia, people happy, riding unicorns and rainbows everywhere
orange man: everything bad, people dying in the streets, yada yada yada ,,

That's okay, perm. That's okay. You can just sit in your rocking chair with those blinders on all day long refusing to see anything except what you want to see. Because God forbid some inkling of the t***h might somehow get through.

You folks may do your L**TKYGELLY parades in the rain, but here we just let the rain go by and then maybe, if not we'll go fishing.

That sure sounds like a swampy thing to do.

So you opposed the big homosexuality and g****r disphoria agenda of Obama's.

It was so important to Obama that he dedicated a big portion of his last official speech to unnatural behavior.

A number of factors made trump go to the white house..

Did a single issue make the difference? I do not think so, never the less one of the biggest factors was her stupid campaign.. did not even show up in the rust states.. her fault? maybe, but the fools who ran her schedule must have been overdosing on dumb pills..

And I am curious, what general area of the country do you live? I really do understand that some areas did have a very hard time during the recession..

I should be honest with you, I do not own a rocking chair. one is in the basement with a busted rocker, but none that I could sit in.. all is not lost, I like sitting by the fire place far more and reading is my best past time...

Happy spring to you and good times for you and all your family..

Agree that it was not a single issue, and hrc was definitely a bad candidate. But the negative effects of the ACA on small town America had a lot to do with the pro-Trump momentum that gave him the Presidency.

And because you came clean on that rocking chair thing, I will answer your question … born and raised … and still living in … the Show Me State. And I am old, so I have been here many years. Looking forward to spring, as I become less tolerant of the cold every year …. but my family is here, so ….. this is where I'll stay …

Very well said, padre. That wisecrack came from a guy who has never stepped inside a church, like most Progressives. I enjoy your threads because they make sense. Again, nice subtle way to put this reprobate in his place!

If you are over 60 and don’t have a pension you worked at the wrong place. Pensions are earned, they are part of an employees compensation package and when an employer doesn’t pay them it is no different than theft. Every time you see an octogenarian taking a fast food order or greeting people at a big box store instead of fishing with their grandkids it is clear indication that we desperately need a robust return of organized labor.

Well, when I went out to dinner with friends who most worked for big companies like IBM or Continental Airlines and pay came up, I was double there pay, lol. So, today I own my house, two new cars, a 40-foot diesel pusher RV, zero debt. Try this, buy a new car 40k+ on a credit, I can. For your info, I was approached many times at my home by many Corporation people to work for them, never did.

You were doing just fine until you put the word 'Obama' in there. Now I'm all for it.

But really, what's wrong with selling your pension back to your employer if you want to? There's no law against it (and not likely to be), and in many instances, an individual has the ability to manage investment finances just fine. If they take that cash payout and blow it on wh**ever their heart desires, then they got what their heart desires. End of story, right?

Another great job of debate against a lib troll padre!! My brother worked in construction, when he had to retire because of severe back injury the union said he no longer had insurance because two brothers that ran the health insurance absconded with all the money! Typical union demonrat mafia!
