President Obama had to deal with a world wide rescission, the COLA is base on cost of living. During the recession cost of living was falling along with everything else.

It would have been ridiculous for COLA to bestow a large increase.

that said, COLA is not handed out be the President, any President..

SS has a review board to deal with COLA...

Your entire claim is a lie... whether by you or the fish wrap you read in on, it is false..

If you wish I can tell you how much we did get each year, but it is in a % not in $...

If you are concerned about Medicare benefits then you should be very afraid of the dems taking over. Listen to what they are saying--Medicare for All. And Medicare for All is Medicare for None. Under the new progressives' plan, the Medicare pot, which all of us were forced to pay into our entire careers, would now suddenly have millions more (many of whom have paid little or nothing) drawing from the same pot. How do think that's going to work out for you? And which group do you think the powers that be at Medicare will start looking at when cost cutting becomes their first priority--old people who are no longer contributing to it, that's who.

And under under Obama, 8 years of it, there was very little increase in SS benefits. No COLA increases for us while Congressmen continued to received their written-into-law-by-themselves COLA increases and regular raises in pay. And for what?

No one that has ever mentioned a plan has said the all would be dumped into the current plan.. that is impossible..

Why would anyone think that the plan is only putting the whole nation into nothing but the existing plan?

Once more, for your information.. President Obama nor any other president has nothing to do with setting the COLA for Social Security...

And again.. remember the little world wide recession we had? Why would you think any other results were possible??

We already have Medicare for seniors … and we have Medicaid for everyone. The only reason to call this new progressives' plan Medicare for All is because it sounds a lot better than calling it outright exactly what it is …. Single Payer Health Care for Everyone. A total government takeover of health care. For which the ACA, as Big Brother as it is, was supposed to be just the initial "foot in the door to single payer." Too bad the dems didn't get their wish that hrc would be placed in the oval office to continue on toward that goal.

I do not recall saying that obama set the COLA for Social Security. I simply mentioned that during his reign through 8 years of a poor, stagnant economy seniors saw no COLA increases.

Interesting, too, that that little world wide recession d**gged on and on and on with obama in the oval office, but as soon as someone with some real knowledge about the economy takes over the economy took off and is suddenly booming. The fact that the dems/progressives/elitists/msm refuse to admit that and continue their efforts to convince us otherwise … and that only the rich are doing better … is as ludicrous as obama standing in front of the cameras during his dismal reign telling us how great the economy was when we were looking around our neighborhoods and definitely not seeing it anywhere.

No one in my very large family is rich by any stretch of the imagination, and everyone is doing much better under President Trump than during the dreadful years of obama. You can bet that they will all be v****g, again, in 2020 …

Minnesota was one of the leaders and we had near 4% unemployment even in 2010/11, It was world wide and very deep..

Only the leader ship of President Obama kept it from becoming a full blown depression..

Now if all the middle class had gotten the gifts the richest 10% did, we could all be happy..
