Honestly, it's sad we still have to have these kinds of conversations. Here's my opinion, for what it's worth, on our President and our Congress. President Trump gave a speech shortly before e******n day that was quite powerful. In it, he said "I will be your voice." So far in his presidency, concerning policy, he has been. The dunderheads in Congress for at least the last 25 years have NOT been my voice. They've been the ones who leave me shaking my head and thinking "WTH are these people DOING?". So my take is that our President is fighting to represent US, the American people, while at least 3/5 of Congress obstructs that and fights mightily to take away our voice......AGAIN.

I think its good that you question Plutocracy that proves there's hope for you... Plutocracy stems from massive wealth... It influence's Gov. in America thru acts like lobbying or super pac's running either positive or negative adds about our elected official's to outright bribery & kick backs ... Haven't you ever questioned why the far majority of the people's voice can be ignored by the people we elect?... Plutocracy requires divide & drives it to manipulate behind the scenes... I could right volumes on this subject … Plutocracy is neither left or right... this is the ploy used … it favors what's the most profitable at the time... it started at the turn of the last century, its nothing new... Trump isn't a Plutocrat but shows the desire to be...Putin is an Oligarch almost the same thing... if you really care research Charles Koch who I think is a genius & the family history back to the start of the cold war... dig deep Plutocrats can cover their tracks well...not a simple task if you're lazy... of continue life as an angry uniformed serf... your choice... maybe someone who understands with better writing sk**ls could bring you up to speed... this is no conspiracy theory just pure greed & corruption in America at the peoples expense... and its 100% bipartisan...

Oh I know what a Plutocracy is. I went to school when these sort of things were taught. I don't deny wealth has influence; I simply disagree that it has grown to the point where we can consider the USA a Plutocracy just because we have a billionaire for a president and it can become a progressive talking point. I am confident that Mr. Trump is a far better patriot that Progressives are and that he loves America and "all" her people.

It goes beyond the Kochs though doesn’t it? Others mostly fly under the radar. We are being played. Look at the media. For months we’ve been hearing Russian collusion was a certainty. Why does anyone trust the MSM? They comstantly post d******e stories but no one asks why. Its done by the left and the right.

No. We lovingly show how what they did is wrong, how their behavior actually hurts themselves and often others. We do not ignore what they did. We do not excuse it. We do not cuddle them. We confront and resolve these issues.

A public figure is somewhat different, especially one holding the highest office in our nation and the image of the Free World; an appointed model for our country's values, principles, ideals, and laws, never mind for the future of Democracy on the planet. Such a person is to rightfully be held to a higher standard. Failing to do so is failing this Republic and worldwide hopes of liberty. Any patriot, anyone who really loves America, is duty bound to hold the president to this higher standard (or some standard of decency) and demand accountability.

Many on the Right calls this true patriotism just the act of "h**ers" and dismisses it, blindly attacks it. How do they possibly excuse their duty to country to maintain, strengthen, and enhance this great nation by refusing, deflecting, and ignoring to challenge the president's confirmed lies and misdeeds and questionable policies, his mad Twitter rants that convict him of low character, and continue to think that they are true Americans?

Damn Rumitoid!!!
I read this without noting the author. I thought you were describing Hillary and other Democrats.
Scrape off the BLACK from your pot.

Yes it goes way past Koch... I use Koch because he's brilliant in getting exactly what he wants & needs... very patient guy who funds various think tanks full of the best of the best … His 2010 citizens united challenge opened the door for political influence & pressure over our Government from all those who had the funds ... In America wealth is power, its been this way for a very long time … in recent years we've seen nothing but scandal after scandal ... right VS left / left VS right... we're at the point of not knowing what's real anymore … the Plutocracy flourishes while we all fight among ourselves... If you dig hard enough you will learn that the Tea Party was a Koch concept from back in the 1980's & put on the back burner until 09 with all the new Obama environmental regs. ... as long as Trump complies with the Plutocrats he will be re elected no matter what... Paul Ryan was Koch's go to guy for the last 10 years... check out what Obama stopped & Trump allowed from day one in office helping Koch profit... its all about the money & always has been...

On the other hand, the Koch brothers came out as strongly anti-Trump when he ran for office.

While President Trump's policies may be helpful to Koch, it doesn't mean they exist for Koch -- they're simply policies that are good for our economy.

It is a fact that tax and deregulation that benefit "the rich" (actually, the corporate entities run by "the rich" and smaller business owners with pass-through incomes) also create jobs as a bi-product, because capitalists employ additional capital and less government control to expand their revenue bases, and that requires adding employees to their respective enterprises.

That in turn benefits the overall economy with people having more money to spend, creating still MORE jobs and more taxes being collected.

When people demand higher corporate taxes and more regulation to make "the rich," who are the primary job creators, pay their "fair share," they are in effect cutting off the country's nose to spite its face.

"Ex" Kochers.

Reminds me of a testimony by a Vegas hotel/casino owner during the Kefauver Committee hearings, when Estes Kefauver asked him "Doesn't it bother you that these people you're involved with were involved in illegal gambling in other states?" The owner replied, "Where else are they gonna get the experience?"

More Americans are realizing that.
They see the economy, and their bank accounts.
