I never blamed Trump for the drought but deregulating puts a halt on the improvements we were beginning to make. Do you really believe that anyone has ever said droughts didn't exist, where did you get that inclination? No one is arguing these forces of nature haven't occurred, of course they've have, what we acknowledge is the environmental impact we have had on it and are committed to trying to remedy it.
It is completely irresponsible to allow industry to spew any kind of toxin and NOT be accountable for it. In the same sense, it would equate to an oil company having an oil spill and never having to clean up what they were responsible for and its impact on the environment. personally, I haven't been able to figure out why people don't see it that way. It appears, what they don't "see" they don't worry about it, even though cancer has run rampant, to now one in three people will get cancer, it may even be one in two by now as it's ever increasing.

I totally agree. However, show me where that is happening. I know you know, but if we affect our own climate, we affect the European climate, the Chinese climate, etc. China, which is out polluting the rest of the earth since 2006, pollutes us.
OK...you didn't say Trump was responsible for the drought. I was very tired from a 10 hour shift when I read your reply...that's my reason...here's my apology...I apologize for misreading your words.
But lets look at logging. The industry has completely changed from just 30 years ago to now. I'm not saying that clear cutting isn't still happening, but there are machines that go right up to the tree, grab hold of it, cut it off close to the ground, then tip the tree over. Then the machine pulls the tree through cutters and from a standing tree, in about one and one half minutes, you have a log. This machine can snake around trees in close quarters and it doesn't harm the other trees in close proximity. It is selective harvesting and a great improvement over the past.
In my city, we used to have an explosive producing plant run by the government (we called it the TNT plant), and in the mornings, we always had yellow fog around the plant. That plant is gone now and in it's place we have Volkswagen and Amazon ( there are others also), both which produce very little pollution.
In fact, pretty much all of our old polluting industries are gone.
My point is that I believe we were over regulated. Our economy was slow, wages were stagnant, many people that wanted to start their own business were unable to do so because of costs involved in regulation.
Trump reduced regulations on logging...is this not a renewable resource? Trump opened up oil production in this country...we are just not ready to give up f****l f**ls technologically speaking. We are getting close but not there yet. Electric cars have come a long way but are still imperfect and too expensive for the average Joe.
Coal...as long as there is coal in the ground, we will need to use it. In my area, we have coal fired power plants (TVA). I'm not talking about chunks of coal being shuttled into a furnace, I'm talking high quality coal made as fine as flour and injected into the furnace like fuel injection on a car.
I agree with you that we need to save our planet, but we also have to live on it. Here are the biggest polluters in a list from 10 to 1. We are #2...looks bad but we feed and subsidize so many other countries (even China relies on our agriculture).
Under Trump we have reduced regulations, but our economy is strong and growing briskly, and more people of all races and g****rs are working than ever before ...except maybe during WWII.
So, I'm agreeing with you that we need to care for the planet, but it shouldn't be through taxes, i.e. big polluters can just pay higher taxes and roll right along.
But I'm disagreeing with you about belittling Trump and his cabinet when he is attempting to restore the USA as a front runner in the world, which is where we have been for a long time until we slid down the ladder under Obama ( I'm not knocking Obama, it's just what happened), and now we are pretty much back up there.
I believe that conservation AND our position in the world's pecking order are very important.
