Less than 50,000 Canadians came to the US for medical CARE annually. .13 % of Canada's population. Hardly a mass exodus. While 250,000 Us citizens went abroad for medical CARE or about .08% of the population.

Those are pretty similar numbers. The only real difference is the reason for leaving. Canadians mostly cite wait times for elective surgery. Americans mostly cite the high cost of medical treatment. Canada’s health CARE system is bad for rich people who can afford to pay top dollar to get faster service. America’s is bad for poor people, who would go bankrupt if they paid American prices. Check your moral compass and take your pick.

In the US, if you have a serious health issue and cannot afford to pay for getting it fixed, the wait time is either forever or until it becomes a life threatening issue.

U dumb asses don't realize that a welfare state (healthcare for all who can jump the fence) will bankrupt the USA. Small minds===small comprehension and stupidity. the cost of healthcare for all will surpass the entire 4 trillion budget which will require the doubling of taxes on the working class and break their backs. France here we come.

The reality is that with universal healthcare the needs of all are treated equally... So you (a productive , law-abiding citizen could find yourself on a list with ten unemployed , drug abusing , entitled leaches ahead of you... Such a system never favors those it requires to sustain it...

So, what are you saying, canucky? That the "unemployed, the drug users, and entitled leaches" don't deserve medical CARE? Or that the wealthy deserve more and better care at the expense of those that can't pay? What exactly are you saying?

In a sense YES... That is what I am saying... Healthcare is (in my opinion) not a right... It is something that one earns...

I would compare it to education... University isn't free... Nor should it be... Those who make the choice to attend work hard , sacrifice and earn their rewards...

Healthcare should be like education... Provided for children up to a certain age and then left up to the individual...

I do wish it were more affordable... But I believe that comes with more responsible regulation of the drug companies and hospitals... Not by federal mandate...

Lastly... The wealthy are not receiving healthcare at anyones expense... Unlike many , THEY are paying for the care they receive....

EMTALA MAKES HEALTH CARE A RIGHT! "work hard, sacrifice and earn their rewards"?...for most of them, born with silver spoons up their asses, their parents pay their way through college or, taxpayers pay for their college because of their politically correct skin pigmentation, so they can be further brainwashed and become politically correct delicate little snowflakes that h**e Whitey.

Eliminating the $600 BILLION that private, for profit health INSURANCE corporations and the $100 BILLION big PHARMA corporations rob from the US health CARE system would bring down health CARE costs.

The federal and state government (TAXPAYERS) already pays for 65% of the cost of health CARE in the US (Medicare, Medicaid, CHIPS, etc), in othetr words those that generate the most in health CARE costs, i.e., the elderly, disabled and poor. 20% of the US population generates 80% of the costs of health CARE and the federal and state government (taxpayers) pick up most of the tab.

Eliminating the ridiculously high premiums, deductibles and co-pays of the private, for profit health INSURANCE corporations and enacting Medicare for All has already been proven that it would save 95% of taxpayers and most businesses money and cover EVERY man , woman, and child citizen for their health CARE needs with nobody going without health CARE because they couldn't afford it or would go bankrupt trying to pay for it.

Not sure I followed the First part there... Didn't appreciate the language.

Why should anyone be forced to pay for health insurance?

I believe it should be a choice... And people should be responsible for their choices...

I agree with the last part concerning premiums etc....

How do you plan you eliminate private healthcare?

Are you a delicate little snowflake? Did my language offend you? TOUGH!

Health INSURANCE and health CARE are not the same thing!

Educate yourself.

I apologize for the typo... auto choice on the cell-phone while running between classes... Meant to write healthcare...
Would elaborate on what I was saying , but I think this discussion is over...
Education is about far more than simply regurgitating facts... Manners and cordiality are ranked just as highly in my books...
Thank you for your time...
