Maxine Waters' latest utterance lends entirely new meaning to "damned if you do, damned if you don't," and should cause any thinking person to wonder how someone like that could be taken seriously enough not only to be elected to Congress, but to secure her the chairmanship of a committee as important as Financial Services, even as she swears vengeance on private sector concerns for... doing what she and others forced them to do against their will that were recipes for disaster, now blaming those same concerns for the inevitable disasters....

...and vowing "revenge."

These "progressives" are "progressing" our government into a really really bad joke.

I think this says it all:

"Sadly, many in those communities believe it. They believe the reason they lost their homes is because when they fell behind on payments and were foreclosed upon, it was because those big banks forced them to take out a loan they couldn’t afford -- without realizing that their congressional representative forced those banks to lend them the money in the first place."

They were 'forced' to sign! The banks held a gun the their head and said 'sign, or else!' And here's 'Auntie Maxine' to the rescue, she's gonna make them big bad bankers pay! I***ts.

Add to that, these loans were designed to make the repayments easy for the first five years, then the interest rate ramped up from the 1% (or so) starter rate to more than 8% for the next 25 years, easily doubling the repayment amount overnight. Of course they defaulted. They could barely afford the teaser rate, and the banks knew it when they made the loans but they were forced to do it anyway.

Of course, it all came crashing down when enough of these indigent mortgagees defaulted. But of course it did, even Custer's horse saw that one coming. Giving a mortgage to someone whose only income is from the Social Security Administration is absolute lunacy, the banks knew it, but the government (looking at you, Maxine) didn't, and the government is the one with all the force.

Once again, big government interferes in a market that works as it's supposed to and the whole system comes crashing down. And the solution? Well, more big government of course!

What's just a tad frightening about the way the left is constantly pushing at every turn is that at the same time, they seem to be blocking every avenue for trying to be reasonable, as though they want to see how far they can push before the only recourse left is forceful resistance.

I truly don't believe the rank and file useful i***ts who call themselves "progressives" understand that the l*****ts who've been pulling the strings have no qualms about plunging America into another civil war, if that's what it takes to achieve their goals, or about the universal results of backing people into a corner.

They believe they can just keep pushing the envelope and continuing to blatantly eliminate civil discourse as a means to solving any of our differences.

These are but the point men and women, most of them naive, unwitting and corrupt, for a force that caused misery and death throughout the 20th Century.

Yes, and they seem quite satisfied with results as they stand so far; otherwise they'd start making changes, would they not?

They are the poster "children" for the phrase "be careful what you wish for."

If they ever arrive at the end of the road they are helping to pave, they will find themselves in the unpleasant antithesis of the Utopia they seek, and it will be too late to reverse course.

Unfortunately, they will have d**gged those of us who knew better and wanted no part of it down with them.

I've always been a live and let live kind of guy, but when others try to force something on me that I know I want nothing to do with, I can become just a tiny but militant, and these gullible, short-sighted useful i***ts are beginning to stimulate my survival instincts in a big way.

I've been getting the feeling that, at the rate the left is deteriorating this country, something along those lines, in the name of sustaining the liberty of those of us who cherish it is not far off.

I wouldn't discount that, and I also wonder if it would be that far off.

Between Cortez, Waters and various and sundry other Democratic Party "issue," it becomes plainer by the day that these people, who between all of them have nothing whatsoever of value to offer this country, are dead set on fomenting unrestricted chaos within our borders.

I remember a time when being a senator or a representative required at least an iota of maturity and maybe a tiny hint of common sense. Today, mostly followed by (D), we are seeing a lot of real life cartoon characters
