From Nov. 1991 until June 1993, I served in the Navy, as a non-designated Airman(E3 and below) on Naval Air Station Leeward side, Guantanamo Bay Cuba.
My duties included, recovering, fueling, loading/unloading passengers and cargo, and launching aircraft. The Air Force at that time provided the Aircraft and the Navy provided the ground personnel.

There were only five people who worked the cargo division of Air Terminal Operations.

Then by mid 1992, the Haitians were picked up by the United States Coast Guard. Apparently, a couple of Haitians who were s**k of their government and the way they were living, built a raft and headed north. The Coast Guard picked them up, and when the news hit, other Haitians followed suit. Soon the Coast Guard ships were full of Haitians. At that time, the Coast Guard was part of the Department of the Treasury, and did not have the power it has today in the department of Homeland Security. Therefore, the Haitians could not go home, and the Coast Guard could not bring them to the United States. Therefore, the Coast Guard Brought them to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.

The Base jumped into action, and created a Haitian camp for processing on windward side of the base. The old hanger on windward was converted into a refugee camp. Meanwhile, the Air Force began increasing its flights by sending a C-5 once a day with humanitarian supplies to the Island. Now mind you there was only five of us in cargo, who had to unload, the humanitarian supplies and load them on to trucks for the refugee camp. We became overly strained within a matter of days.

To make matters worse, Hurricane Andrew hit Louisiana and western Florida, destroying Homestead Air Force Base. In a matter of 7 days, with the help of my fellow sailors, marines, and airmen, we up loaded 7 C-5 aircraft bound for Homestead. We had to re-palletize the humanitarian supplies, then load them on the aircraft. With five of us at cargo, we asked the base for help. We worked until we could not work no more. 210 tons of cargo was sent within 7 days to Homestead.

At one point, myself and a friend, sitting on a forklift and a loader, turned to each other in amazement at the sight. Every color, creed, religion, were working together for a common cause. We were saving lives, and it didn't matter what lives. It didn't matter who they were, just that mother nature destroyed Homestead. And they needed help.

At the end of the operation we at cargo were awarded the Humanitarian award and a letter of commendation from the Atlantic Fleet.

Now this is the America, I remember!

THAT is my problem with the current iteration of a portion of the democrats. They are bullies and INCITE others with weak minds/morals to also be bullies. A****A is a good example of this. B*M was a good example also but I think they've come to their senses. GANGS in general are bullies because they have the "us against them" mentality. I have never been able to abide bullies and have stood for many people being bullied from grade school on. I think in a civilized society it is not only reprehensible but a sign of decaying civilization for so many to be obvious bullies and attack (more and more often physically) people whose opinions differ from their own. PS it's NOT being a bully to uphold existing laws. If a law is bad or outdated that law should be changed through due process. THAT is progress.

Maybe you are right about the tax bill, maybe not. You simply cannot KNOW at this time jyst as you cannot KNOW that the president based his decision on a gut feeling. These are opinions, maybe even based on negative feelings toward Trump, I can't really know. So, my point, why not try being positive, give him a chance and wait. It will all come out eventually, everything about Obama, Hillary, Russia, the FBI, Trump, etc. Really, you should put your anger at the feet of Congress because they are the real unscrupulous, t*****rous powers acting against the best interests of both our nation and we citizens. President's are temporary, but the congressional scoundrels stick around for years and years pushing their narcissistic grab for power and money.

I disagree, the l*****t liberals are no longer concerned with "tolerance". It's vitriol h**e towards anyone that disagrees with their political views and agendas. They don't want tolerance, most want to 100% silence conservatives, others don't want to silence, they want to eradicate conservatives.
