I would venture to say there are many Black dems who care and share. I had the pleasure of working on two different Black churches and I found the people to be wonderful full of praise and they fed me like a king. These people all had big hearts and much love to share

Has everybody forgotten the black christian sector? They support their churches, their extended families and communities with money, moral support and selfless sacrifice to help in any way they can. Problem is, most prefer to take the welfare check than to attend church, because the church members hold the "takers" accountable, and welfare programs do not.

None of them are more charitable than the maximum tax deduction will allow. Which means that the rest of us are paying for their charity anyway. It isn't charity, it's for appearance only.

I do understand that many feel the Establishment is too free with taxpayer's money and while I get it, it is my humble opinion that down through the years, many administrations, safety nets for the entitled have been built, scaled back or snatched away, and then rebuilt all over again. Wouldn't want to be one of those entitled individuals. Tough love, regardless of recent Administrations, Democrat or Republican, doesn't seem to be a part of the program.

As for myself, charitable deductions? Perish the thought. On an individual level -- a substantial amount of "my" money has gone towards my market -- to the end of helping folks who endure hard times, not entitled folks, but folks in tight circumstances. I don't make a big deal of it and I don't ask anyone else to support me because of my "giving" -- it is between me and God. Since I don't belong to an organized religion, I just consider that tithing, and it doesn't go on my taxes either. Some will consider me foolish and they are entitled to their opinion. Some will believe my belief in there being good people out there delusional. That's okay too, but I'm betting there are more giving people out there than society is willing to acknowledge, regardless of their political affiliation. Just my opinion...

Here is a great story about Democrats and Republicans with the true facts.

True facts? Conservatives quoting AmericanThinker as a purveyor of facts is about as believable as liberals spouting The Nation as true facts/information. T***h be known, both sides spin or present facts that suit their purpose or arguments. It is similar to posting statistics in a way that makes your case seem more valid, when in fact, it is not always such.

Earlier, in another thread, SaveAmerica, you spoke of one labeling an entire group as all alike as "a stupid statement". It was, and so is anybody's statement that all of a specific group are exactly alike. The good people in our country come from all walks of life, religions, political parties, and races. That fact is what has always made America great. I believe it will remain so, given reasonable acceptance of our differences. I do question that likelihood.

Everytime I wonder how we put such representatives in Congress as we do (from both parties), I just go back and read the nonsense that is put forth on the OPP by v**ers who put those people in office. As a rule, they are no better than the v**ers they represent.

My wonder ceases, upon that realization.

Social justice is subjective. That means that a majority consensus would need to be achieved for any lasting changes. Our society is so polarized right now that no consensus could ever be reached.

Here's an example; a man is k**led - a homeless man is k**led - a gay homeless man is k**led - a gay drug addicted homeless man is k**led. It's the same man but I bet there are 5 different attitudes about his murder, ranging from outrage to total indifference. Criminal justice is supposed to be blind but we know it isn't in practice. The murderer of the above man is still a murderer but many here would rather give him a medal if the last scenario were true.

And if he was black and murderer was white in Florida, all the white guy would have to say is "I was afraid" and he'd get off.

I think many of the refugees who die at sea are FROM Florida, not Cuba.

funny I am any thing but r****t. I once told you I have Jewish blood I am also of Native American ancestry. I have personally suffered directly from r****t treatment so I know how it feels. The law in Florida is like a pass card but if you are Black the t***h is the law does not seem to work so well. God loves all people no matter what race or religion. Political partys don't apply . we all be long to God and it is the same God for everyone. God loves us so much we should return the love to all who live around us.

Well, correct me if I have my states mixed up, but the last guy (white) didn't get off. Sorry, but I can't call up his name. He tried to justify his actions, stating he was afraid for his life. He thought he was going to get off, and even laughed about it behind bars, but he didn't get off. There was an issue with the verdict, but it would appear that the wheels of justice are "beginning" to catch up.
