Rest assured you will be in our prayers.

The officers at our Corps (church) retired June 25th. We now have a new officer, (Preacher). Trying to help her to get in stride with getting to know the people etc. We are getting up there in age, so we are trying to slowly but surely get some new younger blood to take our places. We travel 28 miles one way to church. When you put in 3-4 days a week it leaves little time to keep the homestead in shape.

We do praise the Lord for giving us the energy to keep on keeping on. Sue has her good days and bad. I pray for her daily however, it is my opinion that she should spend a little more time with the doctor also. But you know how you wimmen are.

Sometime in the next few days, I am going to try to find one of our old membership sheets and see how many I can contact. Maybe the Lord will give us a revival of our page. Be sure you take good care of yourself.

Love your Prayers,

Glen

This morning, I felt rather pensive and decided I'd write a new prayer - here it is

A new prayer for August 5, 2017

It's only August, you say, but the mornings are getting so cool. When I venture out, for my morning coffee, blue jeans, and a jacket feel good. You look around and see that everything is still so green, how is it that it feels like fall is coming on. How is it that already August is here, the kids are back in school, or preparing to return. Where has this year gone? Like the past years it has moved on by without a word of warning. It is gone!

The years are like the steady flow of a river. Those years have passed us by, never to return this way again. Similarities may occur, but they are different. Experiences make us look at them through a colored lens. The missed opportunities, are gone - forget about them. Don't live in the past, instead look ahead and be wise, seize the future for it too disappears. Appreciate family. Appreciate the years you have been given, too many die young.

Cling to the values instilled in you as a child, when you grow old they offer you a comfort cushion for when things go wrong. Without some grief, loss and regrets, how would we measure the good that has come our way? Try to give everyone you meet something to smile about. Tell them they have a pretty smile, beautiful eyes, something positive. It will please them, and bless you. Walk with the Lord, it will show! This we pray in Your name dear Lord. Amen

This is the prayer from 12/29/15

Dear Lord, I paraphrase George Washington's words in that the American Christians are set apart from all other people in the world, for we would rather die on our feet before we'll live on our knees. Our knees are bent to thee alone, O Christ. Be with us, let thy banner lead us, this is a war. Sadly, it has come to that, a war for our rights as Christians. We have always felt our homeland was a Christian country until forces have tried so hard to change that. Tell me, are you with the Lord? Will you stand up and testify to His saving grace? If necessary, are you willing to die for Christ?

When we do not have a gun pointed at our head, it is easy to say we would fight for the right to be called a Christian. It is going to take fortitude to maintain that stand if push comes to shove. Our lives, in America, have been relatively easy. I am reading a book called "Hearts of Fire." There are stories about nine different women who have had to fight, run, hide, been beaten, and threatened with death to keep the faith and to spread the Word. Think about it, and contemplate the depth of your commitment, be ready to die for your faith in the one true God. That day may come, I pray it doesn't - time will tell.

Never cut the Lord short, He will give you the strength and will power to face wh**ever comes your way if you turn it over to Him and trust. He is BIG, big enough that the Bible says, "See I have engraved your name on the palms of my hands, your walls are ever before me." Isaiah 49:16. Think about that, imagine every saved individual's name on His palms - HE IS BIG! In "Heaven is For Real," little Colin says, "He is so big He can hold the world in the palms of His hands." Yes, He is big, are we big enough to trust Him? I pray dear Lord, in the name of Jesus, giving all praise, honor, and glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

This is the prayer from 12/31/15

We come to You, Lord with hearts on fire, filled with the hope of a bright New Year. Like eager children, we cling to Your hand, wanting to pull You ahead. You gently say, "Whoa! Wait my children, stop and enjoy this moment! Sit down and absorb the tranquility that surrounds you, reflect on the joy and happiness that family offers you. Take a moment to reflect on loved ones who have come to join Me, but dwell on the joy of new life that has arrived to increase your family. Rest easy, for I AM here with you. I have given you a spirit of confidence, face today with your chin held high, and a smile on your lips."

Today is a present, a gift that is to be opened with the anticipation of what it holds for each of us. Look at it with wide eyed wonder, and appreciation, for it is now! Look at it as a day to share the wonders He has blessed each of us with, eyes to see the beauty around us, ears to hear the music of the wind, and laughter in the crowds, good health and a sound mind. Never cut His gifts short, consider their complexity formed just for you, you are unique. Enter the day with the desire to bring a smile to another soul, have Him rub off on everyone you may encounter. This is the day you are alive, live in it, cherish each moment of it.

Tomorrow we set of on the journey of another year. Let us put our heart and soul into earnest prayer and assurance that we have the power to pray His presence back into the amazing world He created. The Lord must have plans for us, as He keeps us going. He has always been so alive within the heart of the American Christian. We are special, He has blessed us. Hold that blessing with all your might, never let it go. All I can say is Praise the Lord, and may the good Lord continue to bless America. Dear Lord, this we pray in the name of Jesus, giving all praise, honor and glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

Strange New Observations
August 9, 2017

Atlas Shrugged, the name of a book by Ayn Rand. The main character, John Galt, wants to be his own person, not 'a run of the mill' type individual, but the 'Elites' want to run the world with everyone a cutout of the other. Only they know what is good for us, and what we know must be shared with all, naturally, for their benefit. Sounds like Congress! In the Book of Acts, everyone did share, even The Apostles shared equally, no 'ruling class.'

In our world, it appears the 'ruling class' wants all of us a 'cutout' of the other, while they reside in luxury. At some point will Atlas look at what is going on and decide he is not going to be the one carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders? Will he take the world in his hands and fling it into space? As it flies off, will it start to spin faster and faster, or slowly pick up speed? Spinning, and whirling, as people fly off the earth, until like a falling star it bursts into flames and burns up?

Am I strange to have thoughts like that? Do I think Jesus will be returning soon? Mark 13:32 "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. "Revelation 6:11 "Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were k**led just as they had been." Will that time be soon? Christians are having their heads chopped off now, is it that the right number has not yet been reached?

Amen.

We are doing a Bible study at church every Wed. after the food pantry. This session is called, "The Majesty of God." It's an awesome study on Right thinking about God and His attributes. It is so sad what modern man has done to take away from the awe and wonder of God. Many now look at technology as the one that can do anything and God has been put on the back shelf.

You are one of the few left who see our awesome God in nature as well as His Word. We read Job 38 to start our class today. We find many answers about the person of God by the questions He asked Job. If you read His questions, one begins to understand that God is incomprehensible because of our limitations of being finite. We came to the conclusion that God is saying, Job, I did all these things in 6 days, but it will take you all of eternity to understand me and who I really am. How do you define completely someone who says, "I am who I Am." Keep on keepin on.

I believe what we are seeing is the beginning of the end. So many things that are prophesied in the Bible are coming together or on the brink. I know that every generation has had people say Jesus is coming soon. However, never before have so many Old and New Testament prophecies come together at the same time. Luke 21:25 mentions distress among nations with perplexity. This is saying there will come a time when there are no answers to the problems of the world. If we aren't there, we are very close. We are facing world wide problems that can only truly be fixed by God.

Thank you, Armi. I'm always happy to see you and read your words.
For some reason I am feeling very lonely,
although I KNOW He is with me, maybe pensive would be the better word.

I miss my Charlie, probably more now then when he first left, but I trust I will join him.
More mornings than not, it feels like fall is coming on, and I certainly am in the fall of my life span.
He has blessed me with, what I feel, has been phenomenal health.
Apparently, there is still work for me to do.

Take care, hope things are better for Sue.
