My wife's brother was a helicopter gunner in the Vietnam war and had every medal there was except the Medal of honor , we never knew he had earned any medals until he died and we buried him with his medals pinned to his shirt !

Your wife's brother was a man among men. He is part of the one's that we should salute every time we meet them. They are the unsung heroes that wish to remain anonymous. They are big enough to know what they did and don't need to brag and blather about retiring from the military, as if that alone should make us all kneel down and kiss their feet. Just simply being a lifer in the military does not earn one respect in my book. It is as I have always loathed General George Marshall. He was an armchair General who never left Washington, D.C. during the entirety of WW11. But yet he thought he was experienced enough to draw up the Marshall Plan that started the foreign aid plan that has escalated to nothing more than full scale graft today.
And this, I believe, is what our Chief Warrant Officer is trying to do today. He is simply trying to ride his retirement in the Navy to feather his civilian nest, so to speak.

I guess he missed 1 of the briefings that explained how we had only 50 states, ..what was it HE said, 54 states...And this is our commander and chief...what a joke.
