A few other suggestions —— After two terms in the House, the person could run for a term in the Senate but would be required to vacate their seat in the house and not be able to return to their former seat in the House if they lost their bid for the Senate. — A second suggestion would be that after being term limited in the House or the Senate, there would be a strict prohibition on the term limited person that they could not hold a job for the succeeding 5 years as a lobbyist or “consultant” for ANY American or foreign business, corporation, charity or company. — A third suggestion. I would allow a term limited person a one time, small lump sum retirement payment of $50,000. If a Representative or a Senator leaves their seat in either legislative body for any reason prior to the end of their first term, the one time, lump sum $50,000 retirement payment would be forfeited back to budgeted money account from which the payment would have normally been made.

EL — I have a good friend who’s a police officer as well as the two sons of another good friend who are also police officers and each day I pray that all three of these men make it home to their families. As of today, they all have, thank the Lord !!!

I can admire and commend Mike Mizell for his restraint in what he thinks should happen to/with the perpetrators of this criminal vandalism. I, however, couldn’t be that “forgiving” !!! If the vandals are ever caught, it would be MY opinion that they should be required to be financially responsible for all repairs to the monument, be on “probation” for 5 years, and be required to do all of the maintenance (supervised) of the monument for the next 5 years !!!! Actions have consequences and a simple “slap on the hand” won’t teach the vandals anything !!!!!

I’m retired now but even when I was working, I always made a 20 oz mug of coffee using my Keurig brewer and took that to work. Most days, that would be ”my limit”. I would, of course, always recycle the plastic Keurig K-Cup each day and use the coffee grounds in the garden and on the tomato plants too. I retired in 2012 and still go through the same routine each day !!

bad bob, I totally agree w/you (especially your last sentence) !! IMHO, if there is a person WHO IS ALIVE TODAY and was a slave or the child of a slave PRIOR TO the Emancipation Proclamation, then the specific individual person who was their “owner” is the ONLY person who owes anything to these former slaves or children of those slaves !!! I’ve done some genealogical research into my family as far back as the early 1790’s and none of my research shows any of my ancestors owned slaves. In fact, most my ancestors were openly opposed to slavery, so, in my opinion, I owe reparations, or any other forms of compensation, to NOBODY !!!

If the things that Booker said were in the item (s) he released were actually not in those documents, a logical question would be, why were they “committee classified” in the first place ??? If nothing in those documents was “damaging” to Kavenaugh, it seems, IMHO, they and possibly many other documents should not have been considered “committee classified either !!!
