I think White Castle was Crystal (or Krystal) at one time. We didn't have a subway in Jacksonville.

Lol. All I could think of was the Harold and Kumar movie.

OK, where are the east coast people? White Castle burgers, at every subway stop.

Right here, lol. None around me that I know of...but it looks like some places use their burgers, as I do a google search.

The McDonald's #1 Store Museum is housed in a replica of the former McDonald's restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, opened by Ray Kroc in April 1955. The company usually refers to this as The Original McDonald's, although it is not the first McDonald's restaurant but the ninth; the first was opened by Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California in 1940, while the oldest McDonald's still in operation is the third one built, in Downey, California, which opened in 1953. However, the Des Plaines restaurant marked the beginning of future CEO Kroc's involvement with the firm. It opened under the aegis of his franchising company McDonald's Systems, Inc., which became McDonald's Corporation after Kroc purchased the McDonald brothers' stake in the firm.

Thanks, Moldy. Quite an interesting story. Personally, I don’t think the burgers are worth more than their original price. 👍

Just to help anyone wanting to Google, the guy was Ray Kroc.

Dang it!!! Thanks ENSQ, I should’ve googled his name for spelling accuracy. 👍 And I should’ve put the word “for” before “businessman” 😔

mwdegutis where do you get all of these lies and silly BS?

That’s fantastic, bob. “Lies and silly BS”- did you come up with all that information disputing mwdegutis’s post all by yourself? You may as well have just given him a raspberry and called him a poo-poo head. 🙄

Why would anyone that can afford proper schooling put their children in a crappy school?

I'm guessing 98% of the Democrats that are forcing every poor child into public schools chooses better for their own children.. Do you disagree?

That’s almost the exact percentage of Boston public school teachers who send their children to private schools. How ironic, right?

My wife likes the idea of a gun buy back. I don't think that would work. I say just ban them with a 10,000 dollar fine for each illegal gun and no less than one year in jail per violation. If you choose to break the law that's up to you. Is that a good enough solution for you?

My gift to you...

We need more than prayers to stop these mass murders. Several years ago one man tries to board an airplane with a bomb in his shoe. Nobody got killed that day. From that point forward to this day every single person boarding an airplane must remove their shoes to protect the rest of us. We need an honest attempt by our government to protect us today. A good start would be to ban the sale of assault weapons and confiscate those in circulation.

You’re asked to remove your shoes for inspection, they are immediately returned to you. The government didn’t ban everyone from wearing shoes. Good grief, you gun grabbers are ignorant to the point of obnoxious.

How many beers had you had??? 🙃

Not sure. I was about 16-17, back then I was having a six pack for breakfast and lunch, so anywhere from 6 to 12. 👍 It was during the summer, we were going swimming at Houton’s Pond in Milton. It was a group of kids from some basketball team. The kid who did it was probably 6’6” - 6’7” could jump like a jackrabbit, good ball player too. Think he ended up going to Kansas, lost track of him....
