English is the world's international language. It is often used to explain things to tourists coming in from other countries.

But while English is well known, it's not always well written, resulting in some truly, although unintentional, comic signs. Here are some of my all-time favorite broken English signs:

In a Vienna hotel:
In case of fire, do your utmost to alarm the hotel porter.

A sign posted in Germany's Black Forest:
It is strictly forbidden on our black forest camping site that people of different sex, for instance, men and women, live together in one tent unless they are married with each other for that purpose.

In a Zurich hotel:
Because of the impropriety of entertaining guests of the opposite sex in the bedroom, it is suggested that the lobby be used for this purpose.

In an advertisement by a Hong Kong dentist:
Teeth extracted by the latest Methodists.

A translated sentence from a Russian chess book:
A lot of water has been passed under the bridge since this variation has been played.

In a Rome laundry outlet:
Ladies, leave your clothes here and spend the afternoon having a good time.

In a Czechoslovakian tourist agency:
Take one of our horse-driven city tours—we guarantee no miscarriages.

Advertisement for donkey rides in Thailand:
Would you like to ride on your own ass?

On the faucet in a Finnish washroom:
To stop the drip, turn cock to right. In the window of a Swedish furrier:
Fur coats made for ladies from their own skin.

On the box of a clockwork toy made in Hong Kong:
Guaranteed to work throughout its useful life.
In a Swiss mountain inn:
Special today—no ice cream.
On the menu of a Polish hotel:
Salad a firm's own make; limpid red beet soup with cheesy dumplings in the form of a finger; roasted duck let loose; beef rashers beaten up in the country people's fashion.
In a Hong Kong supermarket:
For your convenience, we recommend courageous, efficient self-service.

Outside a Hong Kong tailor shop:
Ladies may have a fit upstairs.

In a Bangkok dry cleaner's:
Drop your trousers here for best results.

Outside a Paris dress shop:
Dresses for street walking.

In a Rhodes tailor shop:
Order your summers suit. Because is big rush we will execute customers in strict rotation.

Similarly, from the Soviet Weekly:
There will be a Moscow Exhibition of Arts by 15,000 Soviet Republic painters and sculptors. These were executed over the past two years.

RETW, Lets not forget that Churchill was a conservative. Conservatism, liberalism, and socialism have somewhat different meanings in the UK than they do here. I think that when the super wealthy get the lions share of the benefits of a tax deduction, while the middle and working classes get a few crumbs that fall off the table onto the floor, something is wrong. Today CEOs average three hundred times the compensation of the people that actually work for the corporation. Thats over a two hundred percent rise since World War Two. To me, that kind of says who is really greedy in our society. I guess there was a need for words!

No there isn't. It doesn't make a bit of difference if Churchill was a fairy prince or a snowball.

The fact remains he was correct.

Very misleading headline. If million of deceased voters were there the rotting corpses and bones would be a mess. If millions of illegals were there, they could all be arrested at one time. What you meant was that lists of millions of deceased or persons who were illegally and are still voting were found, which should NOT have been any surprise considering the history of illegal activities in which BOTH CLINTONS have been involved.

Really, you really, really didn't get the jest of my post? ?????????????

Mexico retaliated against the wall by establishing an agricultural agreement with Argentina. They will be importing all the corn, grains, and soy from that country - and Mexico will ship them their automobiles -- without duty. This will take away at least $13 billion annually from American farmers. That's the results caused by bigmouth.

There is something radically wrong with you thinking.

Will be, could be, perhaps. You don't know if any of what you spout is true.

In yet you sound like your an authority. Who gives a shit what Mexico does. Our farmers will be

just fine. Wake up, dingbat. Smell that bull shit your shoveling.

I've always been amused by George Carlin's take on this issue....

(1) Isn't it weird that in America, our flag and our culture offend so many people, but our benefits and entitlements don't?

(2) How can the federal government ask U.S. taxpaying citizens to pay back student loans when illegal aliens are receiving a free education?

(3) Only in America are legal citizens labeled "racists" and "Nazis," but illegal aliens are called "Dreamers."

(4) Liberals say, "If confiscating all guns saves just one life, it's worth it." Well, then, if deporting illegals who are convicted felons saves just one life, wouldn't that be worth it?

(5) I can't quite figure out how you can proudly wave the flag of another country, but consider it punishment to be sent back there.

(6) The Constitution: It doesn't need to be rewritten, it needs to be reread and followed.

(7) William F. Buckley said: "Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other points of view, and are then shocked and offended when they discover there are other points of view."

(8) Joseph Sobran said: "'Need' now means wanting someone else's money. 'Greed' means wanting to keep your own. 'Compassion' is when a politician arranges the transfer."

(9) Florida has recorded 119 hurricanes since 1850, but some people still insist the last one was due to climate change.

I went fishing this morning, but after a short time, I ran out of worms.

Then I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in its mouth.

Frogs are good for bait.

Knowing the snake couldn't bite me with the frog in its mouth, I grabbed it right behind the head, took the frog and put it in my bait bucket.

Now the dilemma was how to release the snake
without getting bit. So, I grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels and poured a little whiskey in its mouth. Its eyes rolled back, and it went limp.

I released the snake back into the lake without
Incident and carried on fishing, using the frog.

Not long after, I felt a nudge on my foot. It was that damn snake, with two more frogs.

Life is good.
