This Easter We Must Resolve to End Persecution of Christians

This past week the Prime Minister of England, David Cameron, held his annual Easter reception at 10 Downing Street. In what may be one of the most important speeches ever delivered in this venue, Prime Minister Cameron spoke eloquently on the need of England to protect the rights of Christians worldwide. In a speech that reminds the West of its Christian heritage and calls to attention the plight of Christians the world over, Prime Minister Cameron issues a profound call to action.

Second thing is I hope we can do more to raise the profile of the persecution of Christians around the world. It is the case today that our religion is now the most persecuted religion around the world. I think Britain can play a leading role in this. We have met our obligations in terms of the aid we give to countries around the world. We’re seen as a country which is engaged internationally, and I know that William Hague shares my view about this as does Sayeeda Warsi who leads on this issue in the Foreign Office. We should stand up against persecution of Christians and other religious groups wherever and whenever we can, and should be unashamed in doing so….

This is a message we need desperately to hear from the leadership of our own country.

In Washington, it is a message that is sadly lacking.

The plight of persecuted and murdered Christians by militant Islamists, around the world, is being ignored.

In addition, the Christians in the U.S. are being subjected to unconstitutional new Healthcare laws denying our freedom of conscience; forcing us to fund abortions and life-ending drugs to others, through mandatory insurance premiums.

Christian business owners are being subjected to unconstitutional law-making judge's arbitrary decisions that force them to provide services for homosexual mock-weddings that further degrade our society.

Great post. It definitely needs to happen. I feel for the Christians that are in muslim or communist countries. They literally have to hide to practice their Christian faith. And when caught, they suffer great persecution or death. It's coming to that in this country. And as long as oscandal is in office, it will get worse here in our country. Oscandal is a muslim and wants our country to be a muslim nation. He would love to have sharia law in place. Hopefully, he won't achieve that, before he leaves office. What worries me is him changing the constitution, so he can run a third term. He has changed so many of the laws, that it wouldn't surprise me if he did this. He cares nothing about the Christians being persecuted, because of his muslim beliefs. Muslims despise Christians. If he weren't muslim, he wouldn't have two muslim brotherhood In the Whitehouse. I really don't think that he will support the ending of Christian persecution.

Christians world-wide need to make it a matter of prayer - without ceasing - for Christians and others who are being persecuted. God also tells us to pray for our enemies, so we need to pray for those militant Muslims. Also, friends and relatives have joined others around America in praying every morning at 9:00---for America, and for revival. I set the alarm on my iphone for 9:00, as a reminder. If more of us send prayers for America, we could have a chance of renewal! Only God can bring change to America at this point. We could also pray for the persecuted Christians at the same time. "For where two or three are gathered in My Name, I am there with them." Christ said in Matthew 18:20. When we pray together even with miles between us, great things will happen! God hears our prayers!
