I must have. I don't ever seem to have one when one is needed.

Yes, many times. I remember bringing them into the house, but they are never found again. Sometimes I lock one in my car's trunk and it is always there, in the way, whenever I carry something in or out. It is there until the first time I need to use it in a rainstorm, then it has vanished from a locked trunk. The umbrella gremlins got it.

I've lost count of how many I've lost. Where do they go?

I am a former Marine. We were taught in boot camp (Parris Island, 1958) that umbrellas are not military. A Marine should be able to get wet and not melt. So I have never had one and have never felt that one was necessary for me.

When you have a jar on your head you don't need umbrellas. Even Army wrappies know enough to put on a rain poncho.

I have a lot of respect for Marines, but it's just sad that they don't know enough to get out of the rain.

And my lost memories, no doubt. I bet they're all partying and laughing at me.

Around here, the keys often join in the moving to the sock drawer. They are kind and give up a little space for the check book when it wants to visit for a while.

I'm not marine so that must explain why I have at least 7 of them and can never find one to take me to my car that has one on the back seat and one in the trunk..

The other 5?? No idea I'd say the umbrella ombré are at it again...
