I have umbrellas, never lost one because I don't understand the need for one. You still get wet below the waist and if the wind is blowing even your head gets wet.. then you go inside and it drips all over everything. Useless! I agree with the Marine Corp.

Ive stood,in the freezing rain,while directing traffic,at Fort Sill,oklahoma, for a lot longer than an hour,didnt like it much,BUT,it was MY JOB.

Going without an umbrella is fine, if you have car. If you walk, or take public transportation, it is a requirement. Pretty stupid to stand at the bus stop getting soaked.

Nope,on The medecine bluff,BUT,I jogged up mount scott,many times. yeah,had a poncho,but,that damn thing got you soaked from about the knees down,.. How bout the 10 cent draft beer,at the Town house bar,in lawton,My girlfriend was the beer tender there, ( got a free one a few times ) get your mind out of the gutter,im talking FREE BEER.

Lawton....yes, there were some bottle clubs there too, a few had strippers.... I remember awakening one night thinking something was very wrong, too quiet. Then I realized it was the day after some training cycle had ended and the noise from the Arty. . had stopped....
