So? I don't disagree on alchol...I don't touch the stuff. I don't need a crutch, apparently like you people do.

So, you want to add to those statistics with weed? Tobacco and alcohol don't hold a candle to the pukey smell of weed.

Gee Rivers I don't consume alcohol, smoke either pot or tobacco. My passion is dogs and dog training. I just think the federal government has no right to dictate what I do or do not put in my body.

You mean drugs like these?

I seriously doubt that is a complete listing but it does prove a point. The number of drugs available without a prescription easily swamps those requiring a prescription.

They can and do get a doctors prescription where it is legal. Tell your bullshit know nothing about marijuana other than what you have been brainwashed with to the mother of a 3 month old that has seizures that last 2-4 hours and at age 3 was having 300 seizures a week and the doctors had her on seven drugs -- some of them heavy-duty, addictive ones such as barbiturates and benzodiazepines, that did NOT work. Then they heard about a strain of marijuana high in CBD. IT STOPPED HER SEIZURES. You want to deny that life saver to children and adults.

As to a gateway drug, THAT is BULLSHIT! I know people that have been using marijuana for 40 years. They are have jobs, raised families and are productive citizens.

Productive citizens are now to include perpetual law breakers? And you wonder why we think you dopers have synapse that don't fire in sync? Obviously you are being self revealing. So tell us why do you, who are so well adjusted, have a 40 year need to escape into a cloud of smoke and do your kids follow your example of smoking dope? Families who smoke dope together get high together? Sounds like you're a really balanced dude, right man? We are so impressed by people like you who can easily justify their bad behavior. The perpetual Dopers are losers and people with weak morals and character.

Linda the data is there for the medical benefits of hemp is there for anyone to see. As for the war on drugs it had the desired effect, keep those private prisons full. It is the longest war we ever fought and we will not win it.

Hi kenjay...Yes, you are right about the unified opinion of its medical ability to help others..

The war on drugs is also helped..It frees up police officers and drug enforcement to concentrate more on the heavy drug trade...

Pot has its limitations in how much can be cultivated, carried or bought even by a person etc..They havent made it whstever you want to do with it now..There are laws that govern its use...

I don't know where they smell it at, I just know they do there in CO, because they talk about the smell all the time, and they don't like it. I know one thing you can smell it on a weed smokers clothes. They also don't like what it is doing to the state, and a lot of their friends and neighbors. My daughter-in-law's parents (divorced) live in different areas of CO, and they both bring up the subject of how bad it is and how much damage it is doing to the state, every time they come out to visit. I also know a Forest Ranger LEO in CO, and he has hundreds of stories of the damage it does to the people he has to deal with.

Yeah, you're right about those federal laws, my wife's brother spent some time in jail in CO because he thought he could bring in a bag of weed from CA. Best thing that happened to him, because his probation requires periodic testing and it allowed him to get off the stuff...he is more like a human being now. He says he will never go back to it. When he was on it, he was a totally different person, I couldn't stand to be around him....now, he is pleasant to be around. That is just one of several I personally know who got hooked on that stuff and it ruined their marriages, jobs, etc. Like I've said, I know several friends and relatives who have totally screwed up their lives smoking weed...I even lost two cousins who died prematurely smoking that crap. So, don't try and tell me it is beneficial.

Yeah, just like that popular vote...morons.

Just watch, over the next several years, when the intelligence level of the populace becomes dumbed down because of smoking weed, and what it does to the readiness of military personnel, oh, and all those people who will become statistics on our highways because of some weed smoker takes them out. Yeah, just watch.

You sound like a liberal snow flake to me now. Stop trying to predict the future. You might also want to do some independent research and educate yourself on the subject.

You are correct Linda a man with COPD went into a coma, when he went in big pharmaceutical had him on 22 medications. He couldn't do any exercise was barely existing. When he came out of the coma he did his research and learned of pot oil. He is now off medications and walking 3-5 miles a day.

God created marijuana, he looked on his creation and saw that it was good. Marijuana is harmless, and much more so than alcohol. Prohibition didn't work, and it was repealed. The crime associated with an illegal drug is not because of the drug itself. It is because of the illicit sale of the drug, demand, and expense. If marijuana was legalized, regulated, and taxed, it would be a tremendous source of revenue. Instead, our prisons are clogged with drug offenders. It costs multiple millions to keep someone in prison. When the Messiah comes, he will legalize marijuana.

And Jesus was offered a narcotic on the Cross to lessen His agony and He turned it down. Betcha didn't know that did you? God made rattlesnakes but I don't think you want to kiss one......would you?

I repeat a previous post: There was a time in America when all drugs were legal and unregulated. The society saw first hand that there was great harm in using drugs and outlawed them. Time passes. More time passes and slowly the idiot class gene emerges in the not so intelligent and weak character type of person and here we are once again where thousands of tons of illegal drugs are being used by that idiot class, in full bloom and blossom now, and they could care less that hundreds of thousands of people have been murdered so they could buy illegal drugs, get high and escape the reality of their screwed up lives. Got it cup cake?

Never did and my children never have. As to some one giving it to them my dogs would take exception with that and it would not be a good day for the perps.😎

Marijuana has beneficial, medicinal purposes. I don't think smoking weed should be legal for some people and illegal for others. The effects are the same for everybody. The only thing I don't like about it is that it affects your short term memory. We need to reserve prison space for real, hardened criminals. We are granting early parole for these people to make room for people who are doing nothing wrong, in my opinion. I know of Rabbis who smoke weed. If you want to have a really interesting, insightful discussion about religion or the Bible, you should get high. The constitution allows for liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Getting high hurts nobody and the government also cannot tell me how to practice my religion.

I expect your dog's would be the least of the perps problems as it would have been for me protecting our children too. The message should penetrate the thick skulls of the adults that imbibe illegal drugs and justify the use. Would they offer drugs to their children and would they care if someone else gave drugs to their children. Quickly answers the question how hypocritical they are.
