World leaders all over the world are just finding out that the NSA has been spying on them and their citizens for years. Not exactly a gesture of friendship and trust. More like a gesture of global totalitarianism on the make. So... I'm relying on the conservatives on this site who have always been advocates of our behavior on the international stage to explain WHY this sort of eves-dropping is so damned necessary.

To give up freedom for security ultimately ends up with you having neither.

I don't care what anyone says the NSA can shuff their BS up their patriot act. They it's wrong but their paranoia won't let them see the truth.

It's about control. As Darpa's slogan says 'Scientia est Potentia'. Secular Knowledge is Power. The market manipulation in Brazil shows that this information doesn't exist in an anti-terror vacuum. Just because it has been going on forever does not mean that it is right that it continue The moral instability of Washington is good enough reason to discontinue these practices and are also why they won't be discontinued.

Don't get me wrong I have read The Art of War it is essential to know what your enemies are doing but when you've tapped I to your citizens phones and computers and all if your friends friends friends you have gone over the edge.

China is not our friend and when they no longer need us their will be war and then we will see who has learned what from whom and will our friends still be our friends.

If anyone thinks the Brits (in 18th c.) were more oppressive than our government is now is sorely mistaken. Lines have been crossed...

When why do they reffer to China as Red China? China has been a communist country since 1949.

We went mad after 9/11 and put in the insane Patriot Act, Homeland Security, TSA etc etc and now the system is so big it drives itself. It has never foiled a plot (those shown as successful were invariably setups). Spying is just a part of the insanity. Especially spying on our allies.

That is a good way to put it.

Could we start with correct spelling? It would be eavesdropping.

So only "conservatives" support this. R E A L L Y - NOT. You obviously have failed to at any time to read the number of posts where many "conservatives" have stated they opposed the Patriot Act when it was passed and still oppose it. Acknowledging such posts would not work for your point. Now, if you want to talk about Diane Feinstein, that screaming "conservative" who has repetitively and publicly declared we must continue with this program, have at it. Of course, Nancy Pelosi has been working her _____est to make the NSA stop their activities to no avail. In this instance, it is both sides.

Beyond your usual it is all conservatives fault logic, your point is beyond excellent.

Of course, you will not like my commentary as it is mine.
