And where is the interstate hwy system in the constitution??
It's not, and neither is the bailout of the banks or auto companies. The point is, that not all events or reasons for laws etc. are in the Constitution, but if we only relied on the Constitution for every law or national program. we wouldn't have the interstate highways etc... or the AFA.

Where is banning abortion in the constitution? The interstate highway system wasn't even an idea in 1776.
So if we relied on the Constitution for everything, we wouldn't have Interstate highways and MANY other things. Times change and governments .... of all types, have to respond.

I agree the framers had no idea of future events and needs. To use the argument (either way)that the constitution is the end all be all isn't always practical.

Well it's only a couple thousand pages you can dig that out for yourself.
We already know more about it than the people who voted for it, as they didn't read it. That, should be a red flag.
Are you thanking of Article I, Section 8(and I want type it all), states: "provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States". Unless I missed something, this does not mean individuals for which tax dollars should be spent....health care, food stamps, housing, and other forms of handouts(free cell phones). This article is referring to "STATES".
The number one responsibility of the federal government is to "protect our Nation from all her enemies both foreign and domestic" and that is in the Constitution.
I always reserve the right to be wrong.....but not without proof

Completely wrong. Only two states have seen a drop in the rate of increase in premiums and that rate increase was an Obama administration projection. Of course this act affects everyone. Doctors are getting out, IRS is getting involved the price of the bill has now doubled from what Obama said and companies are going to part time workers so they don't get mandated out of business. Obamacare will not work because it does not address the root cause of our healthcare problem, cost. No one is trying to get soaring healthcare costs under control.quote=mohadib]From what I understand Obamacare wouldn't affect the majority of the population just those that can afford insurance and don't have it and those that would need help in acquiring insurance and from what I have been reading the states that have implemented the affordable health care act have seen a drop in premium costs.

JF, I agree Obamacare does not address the issues of health care which you say is cost and I say is greed, but they come out to about the same. I feel there is a need for some minimum national health care, but NOT Obamacare which will solve nothing and probably cause more problems?
