There were pools of water and they had all of these carp swimming around in them and those black kids were scooping them up and taking them home. I guess that they smoke them and they are supposed to be pretty good eating after they are smoked sort of like smoked chubs I guess. Don't know because I have never tried the carp but I have eaten the smoked chubs and they are delicious with crackers and cheese.

My kids used to catch them in our city lake, but they tossed them back.
We didn't eat them or anyone we knew ate them.
I've heard they eat them in certain countries.

Thats BIG for even carp isn't it when I went fishing in Idaho river that's what they said we kept catching lotta fight but my aunt just killed them said they were trash fish not good to eat

If Carp were good to eat, you'd buy it right alongside grouper and salmon.
But it's not good, so you don't see it in the market.

Carp are great if prepared right. The biggest problem is they are so full of bones. If you cut the dark red "MUD" streak out you can fry them, bake them, smoke them. Carp and Buffalo and Suckers are all in the same family. They are all delicious if cooked right. Another good eating fish is Dogfish if cooked and eaten almost as soon as caught.
