This reminds me of the "Red Hot Chili Cook Off" by Ray Stevens.

I entered 1 once with a friend of mine . We used bean and any hot seasonings and hot peppers we could get our hands on . Boiled it a few hours before the contest. Our high school principal thought we were out to get him!!!😀😀😀

As a cook, I like to experiment, remember the blackening craze, Pal Prudhomme? Well I decided I would Blacken a steak In.my kitchen, using my own special blend, including some habenaros I grew. I threw it into the sizzling hot cast iron pan, after about 30 seconds, my eyes were on fire, then everyone in the vicinity started coughing, kids crying. I almost killed us all. My experiments are met with relutance to this day.

It was called haute cuisine. The late Lewis Grizzard had the solution; if you blow on a forkful of food before you put it in your mouth it won't be quite as haute.

To paraphrase Will Rogers...'I never met a meal I didn't like, especially Texas chili or BBQ."

I have had some great successes , and failures in the kitchen. Unfortunately I can never quite repeat my good ideas as they are creations based on whats at hand. Dinner should be fun, no?

Wheres the thrill without a little danger? Anyone for some wild harvested mushrooms, I always let my husband try these first... so far, he's still here, dammit!

That was a joke, I always stick with the easily identifiable varieties, like oyster, chantrelles and models . They'll be be here soon!
