Are you aware that a creche is not considered, under law, to be a religious symbol? The Supreme Court ruled,
it is instead an instance of “ceremonial deism.” See Lynch v. Donnelly, 1984. So, if a city wishes to erect a creche, a Christmas Tree or a symbol of the made up holiday, Kwanzaa, then they have every right to do so. Likewise, no one can tell a city to erect a creche or even a Christmas Tree (which is pagan), or Christmas lights (also pagan) or set a table for Kwanzaa.
No, I didn't realize that pertaining to the creche, thought it to be true for a Christmas tree and no not on the Kwanzaa, that doesn't make sense, actually, either does the creche. A lit tree or lights I believe can be considered nonreligious as there isn't any religious symbol adjoining it. With all of this ceremonial stuff, it's all-inclusive or none at all, the people need to decide to accept others or not. I feel if it doesn't represent any form of hate and only love and compassion we can manage to stay neutral during their celebrated day or embrace others form of spirituality.
