merica. I suspect that your parents taught you well, and set a good example for you. I'm a woman and don't understand why some "feminists" are so offended by men who are gentlemen.

Point I'm wanting to make is by me saying this, in todays culture and the Liberal mindset, does my being polite make me sexist ?

If a woman decides to get all dolled up with tight pants, low cleavage, war paint and perfume, she has NO right to complain when she gets the attention of men. That's kinda like putting a worm on a hook and complaining about catching a fish !!

I think that both sexes are guilty. What I mean by that is Men do not have the rigt to sexually molest or even to talk sexual trash to women. These guys aren't men, they're boys, no matter their age. Too bad that so many people NEVER grow up. The women ARE NOT the helpless victims that the liberal media like to portray them as. If a woman goes out half naked, she should not be surprised when men treat them as sex objects. Even when a woman tries to get attention from men by the way they dress and behave, that doesn't give any one the right to harass them. But, if they go about advertising themselves as sex objects, they shouldn't complain when they're treated as such.

I my be opening a Pandora box of conflict with this thread, but what the heck -- Here goes and I have many points to make in order to allow a conclusion by anyone who wants to participate. Note: the topic of this thread has little to do with politics, rather the root causes of the antics being displayed on the news every day of late.

Many news stories and political diatribes are on the topic of man making unwanted advances towards women. The most recent started with the Washington Post attack on Roy More down in Alabama in a purely political move. Now the news stories are expanding onto other men.

Many women are appearing on the national news media demanding their rights and privileges be protected from these mean men. As well they might.

In laying a foundation for this thread I will tell you a little true story about one of my experiences and let's see if you can connect the dots.

Some time ago (as a young and naive man) I was working for Uncle Sam just outside of Washington D.C. Most every morning I would walk in the front door, move quickly over to the coffee counter, greeting many of the girls working the front desks and engage in chit-chat. Then once my coffee was safely in my hands I would move on to my work area in another room. This one morning the girls were chattering about their cosmetic choices in detail and the costs of the better brands. I (being a stupid man) piped up and asked "Why do you girls do all this?" One girl piped up and sent me back on my heels. She said "We do it for you guys of course!"

Can you see where I am going with this

Questions:

1. Unless you are a unnatural, unhinged, queer, can you understand the natural attraction men have to women and women to men. It is a natural triggering device to procreate and populated the earth with more little boys and girls - so they can do the same?

2. Can you understand the mental drive in most men to "conquer" the opposite sex and spread their seed?

3. Is there a natural drive in girls to attract men to their womb so they too can be more fulfilled in life's story? It is true I am not a girl and cannot fully understand their motives and methods so give me a little slack as I try my best.

4. If we are going to demand men stifle their natural desires should we then require women to contribute their share. Things like ending their use of lipstick, mascara, two piece and bikini swimsuits, revealing dresses... etc. etc. etc. to attract the opposite sex.

So, what do you think?

Well, I raised two daughters and what we told them is the perception that people would have of them was what they were offering. We called it advertising. If you are dressing provocatively then that’s what you are advertising is available. We told them it was not fair to guys to pretend otherwise. Now I have to listen to women who insist that every bit of propriety has to come from the guy and girls can dress and act however they want and it’s all on the guy to somehow know what it is that the girl wants at any one moment even if it changes in the middle. There’s a movement on the guys side known as MGTOW (men going their own way) that as a guy it’s hard to disagree with. It’s basically guys taking a giant step back from women romantically and socially in order to protect themselves. This being single guys mostly. It’s a survival tactic because of radical feminism and the way that social politics have swung against men in general. So, yes I absolutely feel that girls have to take nature into account and take some responsibility for the way they conduct themselves because if you advertise that something is available then don’t be surprised that someone responds.

I believe a lady can be a lady no matter how the outside is dressed. It is more of an attitude, the way a person carries themselves. I have also heard that women dress more to compete with other women than to impress men. We are just collateral damage.

Thx Ghost. I think some of these accusations are just BS. A true feminist empowers women. They know all they have to do is cry sexual harrasment...oh my God he accidently gave me a boob graze, or called me sweetheart, or God forbid told me I smelled nice and the man is branded as a sexual deviate whether true or not...insignificant or not. I really believe there is something mentally wrong with these women.

The women that do it, do it because they can! They have to power and will use it. Most of them would welcome those type of comments from someone they like or want to be attractive to, but apparently, if they have the power, they enjoy using it.

I believe you are really on point about this subject. Women have always been trying to attract men and men have been doing the same thing. Nothing new about this condition of mankind. It will never change unless the two sex's do not wish to procreate. I hope that never happens.

I really have to wonder what the standard is...I do believe some of these women have suffered sexual harassment and sexual abuse, but I also believe some are jumping on the bandwagon for the most insignificant things. Ashley Judd was on TV a couple months ago creating a stink because some guy at the airport called her "sweetheart".
If this is going to get some of the feminist man haters involved, and they are taken seriously, we're in big trouble!

I was always taught to respect woman and that meant that if you asked a girl out you paid for her food and if you went to a movie you paid her way in to the movies. You held the chair out for her and slid it in as she seated herself. You held the door for her and you always walked on the street side to prevent her from getting mud splashed on her. No meant no and you always respected her no matter what. I don't even recognize today's standards and as far as Mike Pence is concerned more power to him. MY son-in-law is or was a youth pastor when they first got married. If a young female high school girl needed counseling he always had my daughter in the room with him for the counseling session. That way nothing can go wrong and his reputation will always be intact.

No, not to anyone with more than 3 braincells, at some of the restaurants I frequent, the waitresses call me sweetie, normal behavior from goodfolks, period

I bet that most of us guys, when we were young, were hardly ever called sweetie. But when we get, I guess it started for me when I was about 67. Then it seems all of the waitress's called me sweetie of some other sweet name. I guess that is because they believe I was not going to be a, shall we say, a jerk like some guys would be.
