The bug and the windshield collision is merely an example of the application of Newton's laws, it is not a simulation, comparison, or representation of 20 floors and 90 floors. However, you might try thinking of the lower undamaged floors as 90 bugs.
The center core of the towers was the closest thing you're going to find in architecture to a solid steel block.
There are no forces in nature which would take that massive steel structure down except explosive steel cutting charges.
