This was my eighth bout with double pneumonia with complicationS. I'm happy to be alive and as with most people, I believe, that the Blessed Lord had hand in it.

Amen to that! Blessed are those that do His Will.

Always put in a Bible when you pack to go anywhere. Before each of our deployments the Chaplain would come to each soldier and ask if they would like to have a Bible. I always had the Bible that my Mother gave me on my 12th Birthday, but I would take one anyway. I knew that once we got down range, someone that didn't take one, would want one. God, Country, Family.

Hey Carol, so glad you're out of the hospital and feeling better. Pay no attention to smurfette. She's the ingrate. Her post was uncalled for and totally rude.

If you need a bible in the hospital, bring your own! The Gideon bibles were stopped quite a few years ago. Have you never heard of Separation of church and state? To my knowledge, most hospitals have a sort of lending library with books that have been donated. Or there is usually a gift shop that sells them. Or you can go to a Catholic hospital if you trust that many of the decisions made there MUST follow the precepts of the church. Or, if you can get to a phone, call someone to bring one to you or do you not have one at home? Sorry the hospital was not able to tend to ALL your needs. Isn't it enough that the hospital and its employees made you well? I also noticed that you were quick to look for anything to blame on President Obama. The best description for you is INGRATE! ! !

Just came out of hospital myself and guess what! A Gideon Bible in the drawer. This is, however, Mississippi. Pneumonia for me again also. Sorry you weren't here.

Glad to hear that you are out as well. Nothing worse then sitting in a hospital bed, while the world whirs by. From what I remember
Bibles were standard fare, surprised that people were offended by my expecting one to be available. I have read through the Bible
a few times,, and the verse is true "thy words have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you" so it is with me, as is He, all
the time. Now with God's help, lets recover. God Bless You!

Kankune, not only are natural remedies often more effective, they're MUCH safer. Prescription drugs are the 4th leading cause of death in America(www.ethics.harvard.edu.../new-prescription-drugs-major-health-risk-few-offsetting)Turns out, even the generic drugs are safer than the latest wonder drugs. The generics are copies o drugs that have been around for a long time, and have been used and found to be safe. The newer drugs haven't been around for very long, so taking them is a gamble( prior to the DA approval, they are tested for saety and effectiveness, but, because they haven't been around for long, no one knows the risks for their long term use.
