Do go into detail on the portion of my reply that you do not think is accurate and provide, if possible, your references. Many thanks.

I hope God created EVIL because if He didn't then He's not in control of everything. So, the question we must ask is why did He create evil? If there was no evil then we would not know God's goodness and Grace because we would have nothing to compare Him against. The darker and more evil the world is the more brilliant God's glory shines. We all want God's blessings but we would not appreciate it unless we knew of His wrath. God introduced contrast for our benefit. Adam and Eve didn't know about being sick because they were created healthy and perfect. They never knew hunger because they were full and satisfied they never knew need because they had God's perfect complete provision. They never knew God's wrath because they only knew God's love. Have you ever wondered why the tree in the middle of the garden was the tree of "good and evil"? Why wasn't it just the tree of good? We would never know the joys of salvation if we hadn't experienced spiritual lostness first! God planned the plan of salvation ever since before the beginning of the world. God knew before the creation and the garden that He would one day become a man and die for the sin of mankind. He already knew about Calvary because He already knew about EVIL and His plan of salvation. He had to create EVIL so we (man kind) could have a plan of salvation!
I hope God created EVIL because if He didn't then ... (show quote)

So you are suggesting that god is in control of everything! Including the millions of small innocent children who are raped and starve to death each year! You are worshiping one demented perverted deity then!

I respectfully disagree, you seem to be basing your conclusions entirely on verses 13, 14, and 16. Wherein the reference of a 'cherub' in the 'garden of G*d in Eden' as proof of this interpretation. But reading the king of Tyre (Hiram) as a supernatural angelic figure is completely incongruent with the statement that he is 'but a man' (as opposed to 'a god'; 28.2,9) and that he would be killed by 'the uncircumcised, by the hand of foreigners' (28.10), and that his chief sin emerged from his wealthy trade (28.4-5,15-16,18). The references to the king of Tyre as a 'cherub' who was in 'Eden' should be understood as a metaphor that describes the king's great privilege and blessing, and hence just how terrible his condemnation is.

Far too often humans hide behind a devil, they accuse him of tempting and making them sin. The truth is, the devil or the satan can not do anything to you, he can not force you to sin. Only you (and you alone) can and do make the choice to follow the rules/Laws given to you by G*d, you can chose to allow others to tell you that the Laws do not apply to you, a gentile, that they were "done away with" as many did when they accepted the teachings of Saul or Pauline Christianity. But, in the end....at the time of your personal judgment, you will stand alone as the only one to answer for your own sins. The satan will not stand as your scapegoat and neither will your preacher, teacher, minister, or other religious leader; also absent will be your parents, your neighbor, or members of your gang; blaming others to include the satan will not absolve you for making damnable decisions. Your sins belong you.

As with the king of Tryre, Hiram, he and his town had it all but the prophesy came true. "Alexander did far more against Tyre than Shalmaneser or Nebuchadnezzar had done. Not content with crushing her, he took care that she never should revive; for he founded Alexandria as her substitute, and changed forever the track of the commerce of the world." (Edward Creasy, Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World, ch. 4). Tyre was rebuilt near the old site in southern Lebanon with a population of around 100,000 people, under the concrete and asphalt of the streets and roads, Alexander's "mole" can be found. But, as in prophesy, the site of the original town is no more than ruins.
I respectfully disagree, you seem to be basing you... (show quote)

Pennylynn, these passages raise interpretation meanings to sometimes to fit doctrine .Admittedly, this is a difficult passage to interpret. There are many who believe that this is a description of the account of the original fall of Satan. Though some of the descriptions given may fit the historical king of Tyre, others certainly do not seem to. These include the expressions: "perfect in beauty," "you were in Eden," "you were on the holy mountain of God," and "you were blameless." These descriptions would not fit the actual king of Tyre. Therefore they are most likely to be understood as statements about the original fall of the angel who became the Devil.

In holding you to the highest ranks of respect , forgive my interruption of your reply to another poster.

The land bares water and food shortages, mothers often feed themselves before their children. It it by the parents poor choice to procreate, with no resources , not God.

If you get blasted drunk and drive your car off a cliff, do you blame God for not "being in control".
Your using no reason or logic....EVEN IN THE FACE OF THIS BEING EXPLAINED REPEATEDLY.

So you are saying that your god could care less about the innocent children who starve to death because of their parents decisions! Now what did the children do wrong??? That is one evil deity, turning his back on innocent children! Your god is evil!

Ezekiel 28:1-10 is about a man (prince) because he will die by a man's sword. A mere man could never defeat an angel.
Ezekiel 28): 11-19 is about Lucifer (king of the fallen angels)

Also see Daniel 10:2,3 -Daniel fasted 21 days
Daniel 10: 13 The angel took 21 days to get to Daniel because he had to fight the prince of Persia, but Michael came to help. This time the evil spirit is called a prince but isn't a man, because he warred with two angels (a mere man couldn't do that)

Just guessing but I believe you may be Jewish or maybe even a Rabbi? Only because when Rabbi's don't agree with the plain text, they say it's a metaphor.

I'm just a plain ole country boy who can't remember chapter and verse but I do know the Bible fairly well. I believe in God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, good angels and bad angels, that the sun stood steal, an ax head floated and a mule talked. Some things are metaphors, like seven heads and ten horns in Revelation.

So, I only disagree with your first paragraph that it's a metaphor, it's real, the snake in the garden was Lucifer. I also believe that there is a gap in Genesis 1 and 2. That's the only feasible explanation for so many thorny questions that aren't covered in the Bible. You have to go to Enoch and other sources to glean some things. I agree Satan can't force anyone to do anything. But he is a smooth tempter and the greatest liar that will ever be.

I listen to different teachers but please check out Chuck Missler, Who created Evil, on You Tube, he is a gifted teacher and he explains things better than I ever could.

You are speculating about my background and that could lead you to making mistaken assertions, allow me to tell you....and next time, just ask instead of inferring. I am Jewish, the only daughter of my Papa who was a Rabbi and linguist. He taught me to read, write, and more importantly to understand Hebrew, Greek and Latin which were the building blocks for the other languages I acquired in life. I am not a teacher or Rabbi, but hold degrees in Computer Engineering (Information Security), a MA in Theology, and PhD in Cultural Anthropology. Listed in chronological order.

Now then, I respect your beliefs. Certainly your system has merit. But, I was not being critical of what you do or do not believe. I simply opened up to you a further consideration. I do not know for certain that Ezekiel or Isiah were not talking about the satan, I suppose that will be one of the questions debated until death. Perhaps when we stand for judgment, our Father will give us an opportunity to ask. Until then, I can only go by the context of the chapters. For it is within the context that all verses should be translated.

Your input is always welcomed!

There are many pastors that agree with you, these descriptions can only be attributes of the satan. I am honest, I do not know for positive. I have looked at this from a historical perspective and by just reading the verses solo. And, for me... it is more historical, which fits in well with preceding oracles against other nations and kings. But... again, you may very well be right and this is the beginning of the story of the satan.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness and I didn't mean to offend. You grew up with a Papa who wanted you to learn and use your brain. I grew up with a Papa that wanted me to use my brain while working me like a slave, so that I learned common sense. I'm sure both Papas loved us very much. My PHD was post hole digging. I would dearly love for us to become friends, for no other reason, than you could broaden my biblical knowledge.

I grew up breaking, showing and training Quarter horses, and cleaning a lot of stalls. My life was horses, work and church (Baptist).

How did you come to be on OPP? It's mostly military folks on here and a few people who are hard to love. I also served in the USAF and retired in 94. Then I was a corrections officer here in Texas. Some college and no degree.

Do you live in the US? Have you ever been to Israel? I have always wanted to go to Israel, but not for a short visit. I would like to stay at least six months. If you know any way to make that happen I would be in your debt. I'll dig post holes, I'll pick grapes, milk cows, but I'd need time off to visit the Jesus sites.

Feel free to tell me more about yourself and we can compare Papa stories. Any children?

I have no wife and no children.

Until next time, Shalom, Penny Lynn (beautiful name)

You did not offend me! I saw your curiosity and provided you what you were not able to ask. Your Papa did love you and I too grew up on a farm. Digging post holes was common, so was plowing the fields and planting not to even think about harvest time. Sawing trees into wood with a two man saw. But, my Papa was love. He was tender in his methods, I never heard him say a hard word to anyone and that included me, who was a very precocious child.

I would like nothing better than to call you friend. And I hope we have many conversations. We have many things in common.

I am not sure what brought me to OPP. My husband passed away and I had too much time on my hands and I do not sleep well. I tried other forums but they seemed angry and bitter. Or they talked down to one another. I wanted a place of comfort, where I could just be me.

I live in Northern Virginia on my family farm that has been passed from generation to generation beginning in the 1600s. Yes, I have been to Israel. It is not easy to get a "working" vacation to Israel if you are over 30 years old. I recommend that you visit a synagogue and ask the Rabbi for help. I have known of Rabbi writing letters of introduction to kibbutz.

Children, my yes! I had two sons and my husband and I adopted or just raised more than 30 others. Many had problems and were "unadoptable" or that was the label they had. All the children, natural, adopted, or just hanging out with us, turned out just fine. We have a couple doctors, computer scientists, and we also have mechanics and musicians.... they are all loved for who they are. My sons, one lives in Washington State and the other in Arizona. My eldest is a musician and has a wonderful voice and his job that pays his bills is architect. My youngest son is a general contractor... I could bore you with other things about them but enough about me.

Papa stories.... I can remember everything about him. And Mother, who was stern and balanced out the forgiving nature of Papa. Mother wanted me to be a lady... Papa wanted me to be whatever I wanted to be, and that changed often, and if they meant tearing the motor of a car apart and fixing it... well he would help. Thing is, Papa always tied what we were doing into lessons. My mother was very quiet, she was not the wealth of stories. However, my maternal grandmother and grandfather lived with us..... old country German. Many stories! My paternal grandmother lived with us, but I did not know her well...she passed when I was about 4.

Now it is your turn.... tell me about yourself, or whatever you are comfortable in telling.

So happy I didn't offend you, and yes I was curios. After reading your post, would you adopt me, your family sounds wonderful. So many smart and talented people. G*D certainly blessed you. Sorry to hear about your husband and your not sleeping well. Any thoughts on marrying again?

Your farm has been in the same family since the 1600's, WOW! I checked out my family tree and we were here before the revolution. Scott Irish on my dad's side and German on my mom's. Dad's side was hugh, he was the oldest and had three sisters and two brothers. Dad and two siblings had six kids each and the other's only produced three total. So 21 cousins just on my dad's side. Mom had two sisters and one brother and they had eight children. My mom was and one sister could hear and talk, her parents were deaf and so were one sister and brother. Some of the cousins are deaf and some aren't. Funny how genes work.

Whenever I hear of Virginia, I don't think of presidents, I think of a Jimmy Stewart movie about the civil war, one son fights for the north and one for the south. Great movie.

While I was in the Air Force, everyone started passing away. I was down to one aunt on my dad's side and two on my mom's side.

I have two passions now, one is news and politics, and to read my Bible more.

I'm retired now and I on the computer too much. I read all my favorite political blogs and email family and friends, and watch You Tube videos from my favorite teachers, preachers and Rabbi's (messianic)...:) See if you've heard of some of them, Michael Brown, Sid Roth, Avi Lipkin, Zev Porat, and my favorite is Jonathan Cahn.

My eyes are getting tired so I'll say good night or good morning as it is 3:20 AM. I love being retired.

Sweet dreams,

Jerry

Wolfie,

From Ezekiel: " Say to them, As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from their ways and live; turn back from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel ? "

What started you down your path of God hating ?
