Each year many thousands of college students graduate, the top 20% go on to be doctors, scientist, lawyers, the next group will be engineers, the bottom 10% become teachers! So, now you see why we are in the crapper.

I lived in the deep south for years. People see what they need to see. The statue is seen by few as a symbol of a losing war, although the war is the back story. The statue is symbol of southern unity. The left needs to see it as other than a mark of unification.

They would like nothing more than to remove all reminders of a time when our nation was terribly fractured but found the path to come back together. That coming together as one nation under God undermines their every effort to divide and conquer.

As I understand the Civil War or War between the States was ' Taxation without Representation'.
The North was putting Tarrifs and taxing the southerners and not paying a fair price for their Agricultural products.
The south began selling to England and the Indusrrial North got pissed and even blockaided the southern ports... Slavery was not the prime issue.

Moving on to the Saul Alinsky Plan to convert a Democracy into a Marxist/Socialist/Communist society,
one of the eight (8) steps to accompolish this is to " Divide the people".eg black vs whie; rich vs poor.
We've all heard the saying: " United we stand, Divided we Fall". This is what they are doing to our country.
Hatred, bitterness and civil commotion is essential and partof the overall " Master Plan". IMHO anyway (:

It was just a matter of time. They've been systematically destroying history and the people were bound to rise up eventually. Only one little blurb as to what this was about.
Leave Robert E. Lee and Traveler alone. They mean something to some of us, should mean something to all of us. It's our HISTORY, and should continue to stand in Richmond. The statues are doing no harm. Just stand as a reminder of different things to different people. We cannot continue to give in to the demands of blacks and Marxists.
They're lying to us again. The march wasn't about raising hell and pandemonium.
It was just a matter of time. They've been system... (show quote)

That is one of the first acts of COMMUNISM!!! First the Press, then the taking away of the guns, which they failed at, so now on to the taking away of HISTORY!!!

ALL they are doing is causing MORE and MORE, the NEED for the DRAINING of THE SWAMP to be done FASTER and FASTER!!! GOOO DONALD!!! DRAIN THAT FILTHY SWAMP!!!

Which is why we have statues and monuments.

So that people's curiosity will be stimulated enough so that occasionally they will stop to find out about who or what the statue or monument is about.

That can't happen if there is nothing there.

You could probably get liberals to stand and read a plaque that states; "This site used to have a statue on it. It is now gone. You are safe."

Well..........................

I think I'd change that plaque to read:

"This site used to have a statue on it.
It is gone now.
You can remain ignorant.
Does that make you feel safer?"

Thanks for asking. No damage at all. Spent much of the hurricaine in Georgia with relation. The most dangerous thing I encountered was the traffic back. Still some in my neighborhood with out power. The church I belong to took in 1500 people, 400 dogs, 40 cats and one pig. People were worried more about flooding, but never really amounted to much.

I'm confused, General Lee no longer commanded the Army of Virginia? I've never seen the statue, but was still under the impression that Lee was involved in the civil war.

I don't give a hoot about statues either way, they don't really mean anything unless one is an idol worshiper, but if that's your thing, so be it. Flags, statues, and other stuff like that are symbols. For some, the symbols are positive, or others....not so much, but they're still just symbols. It is the underlying beliefs that may be argued about, but arguing about the symbols is counterproductive.

Why don't we all rally around the old Stars and Stripes, and leave all those other silly symbols alone?

You didn't get that idea from anything I said. So stuff it!
