I thank you for your service. I think that you have great courage and I pity those who would berate you because they have never learned compassion or even how to think for themselves.

First off, Obipaul, welcome to OPP. Like all new posters, you need to hit 'quote reply' beneath the post to which you are replying. This allows for all knowing to whom/what you are responding. Thank you, and again, welcome.

Obviously you don't know Texans!

I certainly do, as I was born and raised here...and, Paul is right I also know that Paul lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for a number of years, and probably knows Texans pretty darn well himself.

And, I know that whether you call Beck a he or she...serving the nation honorably for twenty years while in one of its most elite military units says all you need to know about Kristen's integrity, character, honor and bravery. IMO, twenty-seven awards/medals/commendation to include The Bronze Star and Purple Heart says enough, in and of themselves. At what point does an individual deserve our honor and respect for their service?

It's not about respect for him or his accomplishments. I served in the military. I would not want a transgender in the same shower with me. Not gonna happen. A lot of military personnel feel the same way. It damages the morale and unit cohesion to allow them to serve. Why should we bend over backward to appease a small minority when it can do damage to the majority who serve? Next thing you know, these perverts will be changing the Camos to pink and powder blue.

I served for 20 years myself. I also am well aware of the sexual problems that Obama using our military for his perverted sexual experimental agenda has caused. And military supervisors are told emphatically they are not to express their concerns or tell anyone of the problems that have diminished military readiness and cohesiveness. One E9 told me recently that family disputes between married homosexuals is completely unmanageable compared to domestic disturbances between real husbands and wives. Every homosexual, every one of the LGBTWXYZ deviants should be discharged and female military members reduced in numbers and restricted to positions in which they serve. Chip it in stone. And chaplains have got to be upgraded to their respected positions and not merely social directors.

Get out of the cities and into the country where real Texans live. It's different. Look at that crazy black congresswoman in Houston and that silly ass woman lesbian mayor. That's not Texas.

I'll thank you not to speak to me about "real Texans." As stated earlier, I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived over much of it. I reside, currently in Bosque County, Texas. The entire county consists of about 18,000 people in an area of just over 1000 square miles. It is primarily ranch country. I suspect, with good reason, that I know more about Texas and Texans than most...to include you.

Please tell me that Texas hasn't gone to Hell the way of California. I remember a Texas that was much like Oklahoma and Wyoming. Wyoming and Colorado changed to some degree when a house in California could be sold for the price a small ranch cost in Colorado and Wyoming, Montana too. Californians flocked out of that den of iniquity to the states I mentioned and they brought pieces of the corrupted degenerate corpse and spread it to conservative states. Evidently the same thing happened to Texas.......even to West Texas?

I'm from Texas born and raised, but I don't like the LGBT bull shit, many people tolerate it, but don't approve. Posters post this crap to try to keep it fresh but times are not under mandatory law like Obama,s agenda. Just like faggot Manning being a traitor, those people will sell out duty, honor, country for their misguided outlook, POTUS is draining that stagnant sewer. Go President Trump.

Being tolerant doesn't mean being stupid.

I tolerate lots of people that should not be in every job in America, and especially in the military.

The military is not there to employ people. It's the to protect America. Period.

People that are severely disabled, very short, tall, fat, or skinny and really-really love America cannot and should not be in the military.

It's not about the serviceman, it's about America.

Rest easy, Padre. Texas is almost nothing like California. And, JFYI, Bosque County is in Central Texas, not West Texas.

I would agree with that, Dave...but, one can't say that Beck fell short in serving/protecting our nation for twenty years. Whether an exception or the rule for transgenders, that is indisputable. Stereotyping people can often lead to wrong assumptions.

I did not make any of those assumptions, and agree with your point.

Sorry if I seemed to imply an assumption on your part. I was speaking to the common habit of people making assumptions. You generally come across as reasonable and thoughtful with your comments.

Thank you.

To be honest one of my character failings is that I don't tend to remember what many posters said in the past on this forum, but your reply is appreciated.

To expand on my comments. What I served in the military there were several people that I pretty much knew were gay serving in the military with me. One was my best friend at one of my duty stations.

Naturally they were in the closet, and as a young man at the time I would not have outed them.

These people where is patriotic as the others. But they still should not have been there. Not because of there abilities. But because of the military itself.

Sexual tension destroys professionalism. That is why women have not served in combat in any effective military on the planet historically. Homosexuality brings the same tension into play. When a leader sends a person off on a mission, possibly to die, it's essential to that person knows it's not because the leader is not sexually attracted to one of the other members. That is also the reason that fraternization has always been frowned on in the military.
