One of the questions at the top of my list, is how do we deal with bigotry?

Just recently, I responded to a rant in this topic... Muslims Tell Employer to BOW DOWN to Islam, Company Has 3-Word Response

It's about some Muslims that walked away from corporate slavery to preserve their freedom of religion. But the right-wing rage-machine edits the story to be sure the Muslims are portrayed as horrible demanding thugs.

Here's an example of the kind of rage I'm talking about... taken directly from that topic...

Now this is an easy rant to respond to. I was going to point just a few of the flaws just to prove my point but get this... he put me on his ignore list. Not because I was being insulting but because I was presenting the truth, which to a bigot is like water to the Wicked Witch of the West.

Now, I've discovered that it's pretty easy to point out the flaws, the fallacies, the contradictions and the lies that permeate the emotional hate speech that we see so much of from various bigots on this site but I've also discovered that there is one thing that facts, logic and reasoning will never overcome and that's a deep rooted bigotry. I guess because it's not logical, it's emotional and any rational thought to contrary will most likely be shut out.

If it's so easy for bigots to shut out any view they don't like, how will they ever be cured of their hateful ignorance? Is bigotry incurable? If so, how do we prevent it from tearing apart our society? Even more to the point, how do we prevent the rulers from taking advantage of bigotry by using it to divide the people as they see fit?

Americans are being assaulted by a ruling class that continues to trap us in debt and servitude and yet they have managed to convince the feeble-minded among us that Muslims are the problem... blacks are the problem... communism is the problem... Strawmen, all of them.

Any suggestions?

Pay attention, FOOL! Not all Muslims are terrorists, but it is a fact that Muslims will lie to you. A good percentage of Muslims ARE terrorists. Several million of them, in fact. So, with no way to tell the difference, the only sane thing to do is ban all Muslims from our country.

If you believe the total obliteration of our culture is a strawman you have a bigger problem than the bigot you are complaining about. You push this tolerance insanity to the point where you assure your own destruction. If you value your life and your customs you cannot allow any immigrant to demand that you change to suit him. Do the math. There are 1.6 billion Muslims. If only one percent are terrorists, and the estimate is higher, that's 16 million terrorists. And that doesn't include the hundreds of millions who support them.

to be honest, I think you're counting soldiers. "Terrorism" is a word that has lost accuracy since the Bush Era. It used to refer to those who terrorize civilian populations. But now we refer to an insurgency engaging in conflict with US or allied troops as "terrorists".

But whatever, let's just say it *is* "several" million.... In 2015 there were 1.8 BILLION Muslims in the world. I'm just curious how you think America is going to "be great again" if you're making enemies with the fastest growing consumer markets in the world. And why? That tells you right there that Islam will never stop and it is a theology that is hell bent on world domination until all other religions, political systems and cultures are wiped off the face of the earth. (And Allah alone is worshiped) ---- moderate Muslims are just those of a peaceful nature will pick and choose what aspects of the Koran they want to accept and incorporate into their own personal belief system. But that does not change what is written in stone (in the Koran expenditures) that is the Islam of the ages.

OK look, I can see this comment is a response to you personally, and OK, the language is a little rough but I don't really know the context. I don't remember being in that conversation so how would I know if you haven't already set the precedence? These are both comments that could pass for humor in any number of contexts. I'm pretty sure

It's Robert Byrd, not Robert Bird... and he's already taken care of. He publicly announced his change of heart on matters like desegregation and civil rights and his regrets for having opposed them earlier in his career, which was in late 50's, early 60's, when the Democratic Party was still home base for conservatives and all the racism that goes with that. Unlike the Dixiecrats that jumped ship when the Democrats were getting too liberal and joined the Republican Party to vote for Nixon, Byrd's attitudes changed along with the attitudes of his party.

So... there's your deflection. Not much, I gotta tell ya.
