When I was in Germany last year I needed medical help. Cost me about $50. I have cancer. ACA kept us from serious financial borderline bankruptcy. ACA needs fixing . We would have had Medicare for all of it hadn't been for some spineless Democrats. And of course it ended up being a half way measure instead. I currently pay $1035 per month for health insurance. PREMARA BLUE CROSS are j!!ust extortionist. That's one of many reasons we need so how payer as well

I have posted the research many times. In all fairness proponents of single payer such as Buffalo have posted many articles in support. So we end up with fact from to opposing groups. Look it up. Common sense would tell you there will have to be higher taxes and rationing. You throw that many people on a government program you will need many more doctors, that you won't get. Not many people are going to spend eight years in school, take out up to a million in loans to be on the government payroll.

"Throw that many people on a government program"??? 20% of US the population (the elderly and the poor) generates 80% of the cost of medical CARE in the US while private, for profit health INSURANCE giants profit $500 BILLION annually from the 80% of the US population that generates only 20% of the cost of medical CARE. Government (taxpayers) already fund 65% of medical costs (Medicare, Medicaid, VA, city, county, state and federal employees). Do the math, J. If you could get the same or better quality medical CARE for 1/3 of what you pay now in premiums by paying taxes into a Medicare for All system, would it be worth it? 243 MILLION adults in the US pay some form of federal taxes. Instead of paying $1.75 TRILLION to private, for profit health insurance giants, reduce that to $500 Billion in additional taxes, incorporate medicaid and the VA expenses and, viola, Medicare for All becomes affordable.

Don't you realize that you are paying for all of the people that do not want to work for a living. Who would have to pay something if they went to work. The leeches of this U. S. A.. It we had the government pay for everyone the government would run up more debt than the eye could see, just on health care. Where on earth would that help the middle class. They would just have to dig deeper in their pockets and then be short of money for food and other necessities.

Over $3 TRILLION to be more precise, to fund illegal, unConstitutional, immoral wars that only further enrich the military industrial corporations and Wall Street Banksters.

You do not know about history of the Social Security program. During the LBJ term the Social Security fund was removed from the trust and place into the General Fund. That was no fault of the Republicans. Democrats removed the tax deduction for S.S. and Carter gave S.S. to immigrants even if they had never put money into the account. So where on earth did you get it was the Republicans fault. Oh! Sorry about that, it was from the liberals of this country who promoted that propaganda. Who have also taken hundreds of millions from Medicare to use for the ACA act. I suppose in your eyes that was also the Republicans fault.

You don't pay very much attention to the viability of government programs, do you? Social security and Medicare are Ponzi schemes and are destined to go broke, sooner than later. They already eat up most of our federal taxes. Now you want to throw medical care in and make it the deadly trio. After Obamas' 10 trillion in debt, he has pushed us closer to bankruptcy. Unless you want to live in the Bernie Sanders wonderful socialist peoples' workers' paradise and have the government confiscate most of your income... socialism is a BAD idea.

The general spending picture changes substantially once Social Security and Medicare are removed. At 11.3 percent of GDP, total program spending outside Social Security and Medicare is already below its 40-year average of 12.0 percent of GDP and CBO projects it will fall to 10.5 percent of GDP in 2027.

We are becoming like Europe, Feance and Italy aren't far behind Italy.

In other words, we can't afford another government giveaway program for the lazy left. Get a job.

It should tell us something that the biggest proponent of single payer is Bernie "I can spend your money smarter than you" Sanders. He has even introduced a "Single Payer" bill. Just knowing this retard supports something is enough for me. He should be the economic advisor in Venezuela. Huh, maybe he is.

The politicians stole the money from the trust fund, now they say it is going broke because they do not want to pay it back

Funny that you mention that. I haven't used my medicare in three years. Last year I got my yearly letter explaining my expenses. They claimed I had spent about $120.00 on something during the year. Wrong. spent nothing. I tried for a couple of hours to contact someone about the fraudulent charge but I couldn't find a way to contact anyone. I gave up. It must be pretty easy to steal from medicare if they have no way to report fraud.

The government just gives the Social Security programs worthless checks for what they owe. This has been going on since all of the cash was spent on Social Security and the politicians pork barrel projects. The politicians at the time, said that the money in the trust fund was so huge that it could never be spent. Just like the politicians of today.
