I know they say he has ALS, but I wonder if that is a correct diagnosis. My uncle lived 3 years after being diagnosed with it, and the two other friends I had who were diagnosed with it, did as well. I wonder if Hawking has something other than ALS, something that has yet to be identified.
As for the hoax, I was kidding. Just as, I believe, Dr. Hawking is kidding about man's time on this planet. I believe there are schemes abounding in the scientific and other communities to show the "common people" that they cannot always rely on the knowledge of so-called "experts". That in order to be able to govern themselves, the "common people" are going to have to engage their own brains once in a while, and not accept what the "experts" are always saying. So that Dr. Hawking, in stating that absurdity, is also admitting that anthropogenic global warming theories can also be wrong. Get my drift?

There are several forms of ALS with varying life expectancies but Hawking has exceeded them all. His longevity considering the disease is remarkable.
Yes, he must have a sense of humor. He has been on Big Bang Theory and has been the.brunt of several jokes. I think he is a great man in many ways.

Anything is possible. We have known for some time that at least one form of ALS is due to lack of adequate nourishment to the recurrent meningeal nerve.
Medicine has its propensity for pigeon holing anything it doesn't fully understand.

I've said before, Our Creator is marveling in his creations.. It is why he sent his son who came and walked with us so he could expierence "us".. it is also why He will never forsake us.. Even before that LJ. There have been forms of the WI.weather rock around for eons. if you aren't familiar with it they are sold to tourists there as excellent weather forecasting tools.
You hang it outside your bedroom window and use it to determine how to dress etc.
If is white, it's snowing.
If it is wet, it's raining.
if it is swinging, it's windy.
Etc.
