Like a bad penny, I return to a site dear to my heart. My dear blog prayer friends, I come to ask for prayer for myself. I know each day of my life is counted, and the Lord is in control, so I accept whatever is His will. This is my problem - I had the flu earlier this month, came through (obviously) but not scot free as my heart has been bothering me, but something other seems to be at play. My dad complained about his eyes, that they seemed to affect his vision in some way, he died of a massive stroke. Like my dad, I have heart problems, my vision has been funny, not right. Am I concerned about a stoke - YES! I was able (unusual - but God can move mountains) to get an appointment with my cardiologist today. I ask you, my praying blog friends, to please offer up a short prayer for me. Our days are numbered, I know, but I believe sometimes He will bless us with a few extra, and that is what I am asking for.

Thank you, and I pray each of you have a blessed day. In Jesus name, Amen

Bdamage and Bahmer, your words are very uplifting to me. Thank you, both of you, so very much.

I will walk away believing the Lord will bless me with more time, and when I'm back I will once again start to write prayers. The election did not end the need for prayer, in a way, it has increased the need. Our Congress has to have the Lord pinch their conscience to do what is right for the country rather than (what I suspect) what is right for their pocket. From what you read, prayer is sorely needed, a necessary part of life for the Christian.

Dear Lord, we ask that You continue to bless us with Your presence, we KNOW how much we need You. In Jesus name we ask, Amen.

A long mussing, hope it doesn't bore anyone.

Remember When, March 3, 2017

Do you remember summers when the family went to the park on Sunday, to listen to a band? Usually the kids would run around, play tag, or whatever. Back then life moved at a slower pace, patriotism was a strong force. Back then it was the stance of Americans to believe in God, Country, Family. You didn't really know 'rich' people, everybody was in the same boat, and always neighbor was there to help neighbor. Mothers stayed home to raise the children, and tend the house, fathers worked, and kids would play.

Mom's had schedules, Monday -washing; Tuesday - ironing; Wednesday - baking; Thursday - cleaning; Friday - shopping. Not everyone did it in that order, but close. Friday night we would go to town, because that was the night stores stayed open until 8 or 9, I think 9, but I'm not sure. We would often park and just sit in the car and people watch - remember, no one was really rich.

This year Armistice Day is Saturday, November 11. We knew it was to commemorate the end of World War I. If it came on a weekday, we stood in class for one minute, faced the east with our hand over our heart. Do you remember? School, and learning were important, and if you didn't make the grade you failed, you were held back a year. No trophies just for participation. There was second and third place, but none of this phony 'everyone's a winner' thing. We had to learn fair play and good sportsmanship. At what point do these 'everyone is a winner,' lies come home to have the gullible crash and burn? Is that what we are seeing now in the protests?

Don't spank the little brats you'll thwart their ego! How many of you were spanked, but still grew up to be strong, independent, and dependable? You realized you had to make it on your own, no one owed it to you. If we lived in the city, we even had to walk to school. We had to walk to our friend's house, or ride our bike - none of this jump in the car and ride. We played games, like tag, jump rope, jacks, baseball, cops and robbers. We actually talked to each other - face to face, no texting, or face time on the phone. What a different time, what a different pace.

There have been many advances in education, health care, technology, and other facets of our lives. Most of these advances have made our lives easier, and I suppose we could say we are better off because of them, but have these advances also created problems? For all the medical advances have we cured cancer? Are there more heart problems? Are we more mentally stable and happier because of them? Each of us have our 'yes' and 'no', and reasons why.

Dear Lord, we need You this day. With all these advances, so many blessings - have we learned to appreciate, to thank You for each healthy day, to look to You, Your Word for proper living? Forgive us our sins and help us, we are still children in need of Your direction. We ask that You leave us never, and keep us ever in Your tender merciful grace. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

He Is There March 4, 2017

Do you talk to the Lord and wonder, at times, if He is really there? You talk to Him about a problem, but no solution is forthcoming, at least not when you expect it or what you expect as a solution. No doubt, the majority of us have been there, that's not amazing, but what is amazing - no matter if we have doubts or believe with unfaltering faith He loves us, and accepts us as we are. What a blessing!

Thank You, Lord, for loving me - warts and all. I admit I need You, please walk with me this day and help me to be a Christian ambassador. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen

Road of Life, March 5, 2017

When You're young, life is out there like a brightly burning candle. You are full of hope and idealism. You have no idea what really lies ahead, it's like a map with roads going out every different direction, but always ending up as one road in the end, one road leading home.

When you become a young adult, you have picked one of those roads and you are pushing ahead. As you travel that road, you often find other roads will intersect it, you're free to take one of those roads. You really have no idea where these roads will lead you, but you must move on, so on down the road you go.

The road of life carries you over many hills of joy, and valleys that can be very sad. You travel through sunny days, usually with loved ones, and you will come to some dark nights that leave you alone. But - always you must keep moving on. No matter where the road takes you, you eventually realize that with faith you have strength, strength to keep moving on.

Like the ever burning candle, of your youth, its light starts to become brighter and you continue to follow where it leads until you once again find that single road that leads home.
May the memories of your personal road map bring you comfort as you travel that final road.
