First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Tim. 2:1-4
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. Jer. 29:7
For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations. Psm 22:28
(This one is a toughy today!) Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. 1 Pet. 2:17
Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king's matter.” Dan 2:20-23
O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. Delay not, for your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.” Dan 9:18-19
Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Psm 2:1-4
Do all things without grumbling or questioning, Phil. 2:14
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Pet. 2:9

Father we humble ourselves before you, listening to your words, and asking your forgiveness and your long-suffering toward us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil - these things we humbly pray in your Son's most holy name. Blessed be our God and our redeemer, Jesus Christ. The them go all the glory and honor - AMEN.

Amen. You packed a lot of good stuff into that prayer. It is tough praying for some of these leaders but I am learning to do it on occasion. Thank you.

In the style of the Psalms, Praying for the wisdom of America....

May the grace and peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all!
"In the Name of the Father
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit"
Amen!

A Proverb for America....

A proverb of King Solomon (Proverbs 7)

My son, keep my words,
And treasure my commands within you.
Keep my commands and live,
And my law as the apple of your eye.
Bind them on your fingers;
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
And call understanding your nearest kin,
That they may keep you from the immoral woman,
From the seductress who flatters with her words.

The Crafty Harlot
For at the window of my house
I looked through my lattice,
And saw among the simple,
I perceived among the youths,
A young man devoid of understanding,
Passing along the street near her corner;
And he took the path to her house
In the twilight, in the evening,
In the black and dark night.
And there a woman met him,
With the attire of a harlot, and a crafty heart.
She was loud and rebellious,
Her feet would not stay at home.
At times she was outside, at times in the open square,
Lurking at every corner.
So she caught him and kissed him;
With an impudent face she said to him:
“I have peace offerings with me;
Today I have paid my vows.
So I came out to meet you,
Diligently to seek your face,
And I have found you.
I have spread my bed with tapestry,
Colored coverings of Egyptian linen.
I have perfumed my bed
With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Come, let us take our fill of love until morning;
Let us delight ourselves with love.
For my husband is not at home;
He has gone on a long journey;
He has taken a bag of money with him,
And will come home on the appointed day.”
With her enticing speech she caused him to yield,
With her flattering lips she seduced him.
Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter,
Or as a fool to the correction of the stocks,
Till an arrow struck his liver.
As a bird hastens to the snare,
He did not know it would cost his life.
Now therefore, listen to me, my children;
Pay attention to the words of my mouth:
Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways,
Do not stray into her paths;
For she has cast down many wounded,
And all who were slain by her were strong men.
Her house is the way to hell,
Descending to the chambers of death.
Proverbs 7:1-27

More great wisdom. Amen!

"In the Name of the Father
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit"
Amen!

PRAYER FOR APRIL1, 2015 Sacrifices

When I woke up yesterday morning my arthritis was particularly painful and my fingers wouldn't bend. Even two warm wax treatments didn't help. I was wandering around the house feeling sorry for myself when SWMBO told me to stop acting like a grumpy old man, just get on with the day, and COPE WITH IT. She reminded me of all the sacrifices everyone makes on a daily basis just to do what needs to be done.
Think of the ultimate sacrifice God made by giving His prime creation free will. He gave us a set of rules to live by, but allowed us to decide not to obey them. God knew that we would sin, and He wanted us with Him for all eternity. From the beginning He planned to sacrifice His only begotten Son, to save those who believed in Him so we could be with Our Father throughout eternity. This Sunday we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, His rebirth from the grave. God always knew what Jesus would have to endure toward that end- to sacrifice Himself for US. All the things we should do to live the life he directs are minute in comparison, yet we cannot even do those without complaining. Following God's law should be a joyful concept, yet we often look on it as a major burden.

Almighty God- we thank Thee for Thy blessings and the gifts you have bestowed upon us. We celebrate the Resurrection of Thy Son , who was sacrificed for our eternal life. We humbly ask for forgiveness for our sins and our unwillingness to sacrifice some of our thoughts and time toward glorifying Thy Name. This we ask in Jesus name. AMEN.

A Proverb for America....

A proverb of King Solomon (Proverbs 8)

The Excellence of Wisdom
Does not wisdom cry out,
And understanding lift up her voice?
She takes her stand on the top of the high hill,
Beside the way, where the paths meet.
She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city,
At the entrance of the doors:
“To you, O men, I call,
And my voice is to the sons of men.
O you simple ones, understand prudence,
And you fools, be of an understanding heart.
Listen, for I will speak of excellent things,
And from the opening of my lips will come right things;
For my mouth will speak truth;
Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
All the words of my mouth are with righteousness;
Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.
They are all plain to him who understands,
And right to those who find knowledge.
Receive my instruction, and not silver,
And knowledge rather than choice gold;
For wisdom is better than rubies,
And all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.
“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
And find out knowledge and discretion.
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate.
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom;
I am understanding, I have strength.
By me kings reign,
And rulers decree justice.
By me princes rule, and nobles,
All the judges of the earth.
I love those who love me,
And those who seek me diligently will find me.
Riches and honor are with me,
Enduring riches and righteousness.
My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold,
And my revenue than choice silver.
I traverse the way of righteousness,
In the midst of the paths of justice,
That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth,
That I may fill their treasuries.
“The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way,
Before His works of old.
I have been established from everlasting,
From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.
When there were no depths I was brought forth,
When there were no fountains abounding with water.
Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills, I was brought forth;
While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields,
Or the primal dust of the world.
When He prepared the heavens, I was there,
When He drew a circle on the face of the deep,
When He established the clouds above,
When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
When He assigned to the sea its limit,
So that the waters would not transgress His command,
When He marked out the foundations of the earth,
Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;
And I was daily His delight,
Rejoicing always before Him,
Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
And my delight was with the sons of men.
“Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
For blessed are those who keep my ways.
Hear instruction and be wise,
And do not disdain it.
Blessed is the man who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at the posts of my doors.
For whoever finds me finds life,
And obtains favor from the Lord;
But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul;
All those who hate me love death.”

Proverbs 8:1-36
Lord Have Mercy on this Nation!
As I sit here on this holy prayer topic,
I feel like Moses, when he recieved your Law, O God!
I read your Law, and the fulfillment of that Law.
Then when I present it to the people,
I watch as they break every precept of thy Law!
I become angered and want to destroy them by that Law!
And in my anger I repeat the words of Moses,
"If you shall not live by the law,
You shall die by the law!"
Lord, teach me patience. Give me temperance!
Lord, grant me wisdom, and give me consul.
This generation of Americans refuse to listen and abide by your word.
They attempt to change the definition of your words to mean something else.
Lord God you are My God!
Lord Jesus you are My God!
Lord Holy Spirit you are My God!
Lord Have Mercy, Christ Have Mercy, Lord Have Mercy!
Dear God, Almighty hear the pleas of the faithful in these frustrating times. Hear and answer us! Amen!

"In the Name of the Father
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit"

Amen. You are human NPP. You do much for God's Kingdom, more than most of us. I am grateful for your loving spirit and the work you do. We all get tired and getting old physically is no picnic. But your prayer and message are well received. I remember feeling sorry for myself many many years ago and it was probably something petty. Then I saw a child in a wheelchair who had no arms or legs. I said, " Lord, please forgive me. I am so sorry. My troubles are nothing compared to others. I have never forgotten that experience. I have been guilty many times since then of feeling sorry for myself and complaining. But when the memory of that child in the wheelchair comes to mind, once again I think of how blessed I am and my trouble is just not as bad as I was making it out to be. But thank you for the reminder. I just got through writing a letter of encouragement to a brother who had been doing well for a long time. He got drunk, stole his wife's car, hit a phone pole and now will most likely got back to prison for many years. It broke my heart because God had used me and my Mom in a miraculous way to get him paroled last time. Now, I will continue to pray and write letters to encourage him and his family. I am grateful however I am not also in prison. I am always grateful when God uses me to do His work. All the glory is His but He blesses us when He uses us. You and SWMBO are continually blessed for the work you do. You also bless many of us here. Thank you brother.

Amen to your prayer, He sacrificed for us indeed.

Your part about free will falls in line with Proverb 7 and the young man being enticed.

Amen to your prayer for America.

The second part of Proverb 7 reads like the 'Black Widow,' and Proverb 8 read like the 'Merry Widow.' You wed with wisdom, and you are wise.

RanGer (RG) may I ask you use a color other than red for anything that has length. My eyes are bothering me, allergies, and red seems the hardest to be able to red. I would appreciate it.

Purple seem good for you? I use red and blue in honor of the country, but I can use purple for the prayer to honor God. If you like. Let me know what you think?

:thumbup: Of course we will have to see what she says, but purple does seem appropriate for Lady Beark because it is the color of royalty. I think this is why when we think of Lady Beark we immediately think of the Queen of England. But of course a younger, more beautiful version. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Purple is much easier to read. Sorry, my allergies are winning the war and I'm teary eyed so much of the time. I guess looking through red, bloodshot eyes, the color red only aggravates an already aggravating issue.
