Right on. I have been writing letters to congressmen for years and getting form letters in reply. I believe the silent majority is waking up.
A person who is not educated enough to know how to spell, where to use capitol letters, or to have even a rudimentary knowledge of how to put an idea together, should not be criticizing anyone.
About being greedy. After the 12th billion dollar, I do not think he is doing it for the money. I believe we should give him a chance. He does not have to take crap from anyone. I don't want to go back. I appreciate indoor plumbing and central heat but there has been a change in attitudes that I do not like. Police are finding children playing with no supervision in sight and in fact kidnapping them without informing the parents, (for their safety and well being?).

Since joining this forum, I have found out how many extremely ignorant persons there really are. They show their ignorance by their Vicious, Vulgar, and Violent rhetoric. They show their ignorance by resorting to name calling because they lack the intelligence of reasonable debate. The last time I wrote in this column it was followed by 6 pages of rhetoric both pros and cons. The cons again showed their lack of knowledge by name calling and thinking they did something great by trying to outdo each other with ignorance.
So often the worst of the vicious and violent comes in parallel with the lack of education.
As I read the responses to issues, one thing is clear. The persons with the most violent and vicious responses are poorly educated and close minded. Their spelling is atrocious and many cannot put an intelligent sentence together. And they have the right to v**e!

I was drafted in 1953 just four months after I was married. My wife traveled with me as I spent the whole two years in the states. The first TV I saw was in a dayroom at the army base. Our first child was born six months before my discharge. After my discharge we packed up and drove 1000 miles straight through being very excited about coming home and showing off our baby. We arrived at her parents home in the evening and there were no lights on in the house. We discovered them in the living room huddled around a fuzzy picture of something they described as their favorite show and to "be quiet" till it was over. After getting nearly the same reception at my parents home, I made the statement that "I would never own a TV". Of course that had to change as no one ever visited or had a friendly game of cards anymore. Life had turned around in the two years we were gone and it will never return.
