When you awoke this morning. Did you remember to check and verify that your defensive weapon (aka pistol, shotgun, assault style weapon etc) was still there?

Had it slipped out last night while you were snug in your bed asleep? Did it create havoc in your town?

Or was it resting exactly where you last sit it down?

That is the question, and YES... There is a moral to this story.

As an aside. While researching the news on Channel 7 in NY I noticed this headline.

Morris County officials have announced the arrest of 22 people in an initiative to combat violent crime.

Anyone want to guess how many white people were on that list? Go ahead, make my day!

Just a point about the race of the shooter, and the rest of the story.

A shooting occured Sunday morning after a confrontation at the Pavonia PATH station in Jersey City.

The initial incident happened on a moving train and then spilled out onto the platform of the station.

The person behind the terror, police say, forced everyone to run for their lives. Tari Turpin... A BLACK MAN... allegedly pulled out a 9 mm glock, and started shooting on board the PATH train.

Diamond Drummer was the first victim; ...WHITE WOMAN... Eyewitness News reporter Kemberly Richardson spoke with the 24-year-old just hours after she'd been shot.

"I'm just drowsy and in pain," said Diamond.

Diamond was riding the train with her brother Antoine, Aubree Marshall and several other friends. ALL BLACK The train was pulling into the Newport station just after 5am. Turpin was sitting right next to Diamond.

"She said 'excuse me sir, you're bumping me', and he got upset," said the victim's mother, Dawn Watson-Drummer.

The group began arguing, and that is when Antoine said Turpin stood up and pulled out a gun.

"He pulled his gun out, cocked it, my son began negotiating with him," said Dawn.

Turpin was cooperative until Aubree said one last thing.

"He said, to him 'who pulls a gun on a girl, what kind of man pulls a gun on a girl'," adds Dawn.

Turpin then allegedly began firing his gun.

Aubree was hit with a bullet in his hand, while Diamond was shot in the ankle.

"As he was leaving, running away from the train, he shot back, and I was hit and so was my friend Aubree," says Diamond, "I wasn't necessarily afraid because I had no control either way."

Somehow, Turpin ended up shooting himself in the leg.

One shooter, breaking the law by carrying a concealed weapon.

Shooter was black. (He had the illegal gun)

Victims were white. (They were not carrying weapons)

Using Alicia's logic, it would appear we should outlaw b****s!

Delbert Belton and Christopher Lane H**e Crimes Show a Massive Racial Divide in America

Described as "the kind of nice old man who'd become your friend in minutes," World War II veteran Delbert "Shorty" Belton was assaulted by two teens in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge in Spokane, Washington, at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. He died in the hospital Thursday morning.

Belton's death has already gone v***l, and is uncovering deep racial divides, simmering anger and disgust with the media. Most pointedly, many are asking: Why has the death of Belton — and similarly the death of Australian college student Christopher Lane in Oklahoma — largely been ignored by a media which was, only a couple of weeks ago, absolutely obsessed with the Trayvon Martin/ George Zimmerman case. Both the Belton and Lane case feature victims who died in race-related attacks. The only difference between the Belton and Lane cases compared to the Martin case is that they feature white victims and black assaulters.

Much of the current outrage in the Belton case is clear a reaction to the non-stop media coverage of the Martin shooting, which accelerated to 24-7 during the lengthy trial of George Zimmerman. People are rightfully asking why the Zimmerman trial was more important than many world news events, and questioning the assertion by many that Martin's shooting death was a premeditated h**e crime.

But after the Belton and Lane crimes, the media has been more restrained. Even President Obama, who commented on the George Zimmerman trial, has remained silent about race, bringing into question why he chose to speak out for Trayvon Martin, but not for an elderly veteran or foreign student.

Can you say pathetic?

DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz declined to comment on Anthony Weiner's bid to become the next mayor of New York City:

Speaking of hot air. The Farmers' Almanac is using words like "piercing cold," "bitterly cold" and "biting cold" to describe the upcoming winter. And if its predictions are right, the first outdoor Super Bowl in years will be a messy "Storm Bowl."

The 197-year-old publication that hits newsstands Monday predicts a winter storm will hit the Northeast around the time the Super Bowl is played at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands in New Jersey. It also predicts a colder-than-normal winter for two-thirds of the country and heavy snowfall in the Midwest, Great Lakes and New England.

"We're using a very strong four-letter word to describe this winter, which is C-O-L-D. It's going to be very cold," said Sandi Duncan, managing editor.
