Quit trying to deflect on the shamefully inadequate job your holy president of hope and change has done to our relations throughout the world. You who v**ed for him,are responsible. Your guilty of letting our country slide into the paper tiger that the rest of the world laughs at. So,quit using non talking points to try and justify the real crisis as "I have no plan for IsIL". I can tell you this, working in Asia for a European company: Obama has boosted the image of the US greatly throughout the world, which had been left in tatters by Bush.

Reagan returned to the Office its respect lacking and corrected the course of our Nation...

It is still the GREATEST NATION on EARTH..You don't believe so or don't like living here, by all means move to another Country you think is better, IF you can find one...

What has happened to our Country is the incompetents running it since Reagan...
What has happened to our country is because of the criminals in place on the Hill whom look to line their pockets rather than stand in protecting this Nation...
What has happened to our Country is a two party system that fails to find compromise in the name of Country but fights party line BS first...
What has happened to our Country is the erosion of those things sacred to the Constitution..
And what has happened to our Country of late is that POS in office right now whom supports the jihad over Country..
While he isn't the complete cause of the erosion of Jobs, freedom and liberty he sure as hell has done nothing to move towards a country of FREEDOM and LIBERTY..Yet, everything to make We, the People, dependent puppets of criminally insane Hill that knows not what they do..
And while on the subject what has also happened is the people of this country, choosing hand outs, just as greedy, over Country...We get what we allow and we have "allowed" far too much!!
Time to v**e them all out, period..

I moved out of the US in 1975 and so glad I did. Western Europe is a much saner place. I lived there for five years. I have been living in Japan now for almost 30 years and couldn't be happier. It's not perfect, but people care about each other here and help each other out. Life is much nicer here than in the US.

We had Susan B. Anthony on the $1 coin, and Lady Liberty's countenance graced nearly every coin in the 19th century.

Reagan's tenure was a last "feel-good" farewell party for the American Dream, a moment to reminisce before waking up to geopolitical reality. We are still paying the bill.

If he had lead from the front, instead of the rear it might have made a lot of difference. He chose to take the easy route everytime a backbone was required. Depicting the US as a weakling has done nothing to quiet the world, and it will continue as long as our enemies see us as weaklings.

Wake up! America IS a weakling and it is not Obama's fault. It is a geopolitical reality. The US is going broke--slowly but steadily--and other state actors move in to fill the gap. There are cycles of empire: read Kevin Philips. The American century is over, just as the Brits lost their grip about a century ago. It isn't pleasant but it is a reality. Get used to it.

Yes indeed, the Chinese know how inconvenient democracy is. They will have none of it. Too troublesome for the elite.

You i***ts. Obama was elected by the American people, lawfully and constitutionally. You don't like it--v**e the other party in in 2016, until then grin and bear it. It wasn't a c**p and it wasn't fraud. Your fellow citizens v**ed him in and re-elected him. That's the American Way, in case you forgot.

If you believe this, you're an absolutely certified moron! This is the most radicalized extreme left-wing president in U.S. history. He is a socialist, borderline Marxist! I agree the populace is starting to lean right because of all of the failed policies from this sociopath in the WH. And, we'll see these v**ers in Nov. But, for you to say Obama and the Democrats have shifted to the right just demonstrates your colossal ignorance of politics. You've got your right and left sides of your brain reversed.

You sir, have not the faintest idea what Marxist or c*******t really means. Just repeating the same sad old party line. I lived in Italy during the 70s, split my time between Japan and China now. It's an interesting world out there beyond your backyard, and much more nuanced than you would imagine. We look at you over in America and find it hard to believe that you are so colossally ignorant about the rest of the world, but then American leaders know this, and they are invested in keeping it that way--divide and conquer.

The chickens come home to roost. America has for too long maintained an extraordinary position vis-a-vis the other nations of the world not because of any superior morals, but simply because it was stronger and able to take what it needed, or at least get scarce resources by din't of that power.

But the US is no longer in its former privileged position. The problem is neither Republicans nor Democrats, it is that American power is in decline. Reagan tried to pretend it was not and mortgaged the future for one final feel-good bash, to convince you that happy days were still here and could be maintained. But they were not and are not. As the Beatles said, "all the money gone, nowhere to go." This is not Hollywood and after the movie make-believe you have to leave the theatre and re-enter the real world.

I'm over here in China--a horrible system but quite strong at the moment--watching you in the US sink. The boat is full of holes and instead of working together to bail and try to patch it, you are at each others' throats while the water swirls around your ankles. Quite sad really, but perhaps inevitable for people who have no real conception of geopolitics, who have been living for too long in a nationalist myth that has shattered and can't be put back together again.

http://www.politicususa.com/2014/03/09/republicans-slash-public-education-fund-tax-cuts-millionaires-corporations.html

It's no great mystery folks. Republicans have been slashing public education funding for decades in order to finance tax cuts for the rich. I don't blame them; they understand that education is a waste of good money, since so many jobs are being offshored. It used to be that workers needed a general education for basic job competence, but since there are no more jobs why waste money educating people? Just throw them in jail and pay private corporations to provide penal services. It's win-win, for some people anyway...

Many conservatives here seem to be poorly educated, at least as regards syntax, spelling and grammar. This is a good read if you can parse it:
