Michael Brown had already been shot several times and was on his way to the ground when the fatal shot was fired into his head. His body dead body was located more than 100 feet from the police cruiser. See photos of the scene showing the location of the police cruiser and Brown's body. It kind of begs the question of how a police officer standing next to his cruiser felt threatened by an unarmed already wounded (several times) teenager charging at him from a hundred feet away!

To be specific it is being shipped via Buffets trains at a rate of around 300 million barrels a day, with the Approval of the XL pipe line they could move an estimated 700 million barrels a day.

Almost double...Hmm you sure it would make no difference...another point is it costs close 1/3rd's more to ship it on trains than with the pipe line....another argument for the pipe line.

Workinman. you must be listening to FAUX TV to get your information. Canada's total daily production of crude oil is only 3.9 million barrels per day (not 700 million), about 1/3 of US production. The Alberta oil sands top daily production occurred this year was 110 thousand barrels per day. This contribution to world product of over 75 million barrel per day is just a drop in the bucket, .14% to be more precise. When you get some accurate information, I would be delighted to exchange views with you!

For the first time in 30 to 40 years the USA is actually exporting gasoline and crude oil. This it so happens, occured under the Obama Administration, not the Bush administration. The drop in oil prices are a reflection of changes in the world economy, more efficient use of petroleum, increased production from fracking in The US, increased production in eastern Russia, and the Saudi's attempt to stamp out their world competition. This has very little to do with US policy. The Keystone pipeline would do little to change that dynamic as much of this oil is already being shipped out by rail.

What a bunch of bull s**t!!! The Republican Party has sold itself out to the highest bidder. Why else would they support subsidies for big oil and tax cuts for the wealthy? Why do they resist minimum wages that would provide a living standard that would make welfare unattractive? They harp on i*****l i*******ts, while these immigrants do their dirty work that no body wants to do and make their employers wealthy. They then take their money and put into a foreign tax haven to avoid US taxes. Most congressmen are millionaires and almost all US senators are millionaires (both parties). They look out after their millionaire friends and the rest of us be dammed! There are two Americas all right, but not the way they are described above.

That's why we have three branches of government! If what the President has done is truly unconstitutional, The Supreme Court will let us know soon enough regardless of right wing blather. Any time the Repugs want to after the new congress is seated, they can pass an immigration bill that makes sense and the President said he would sign it. All the President has done is push the issue to front of the table to be dealt with. It is also interesting that under the President's initiative, we will know with a greater degree certainty how many i*****l i*******t are in the country and who they are. It is much easier to deal with what you know than what you don't know.

Gasoline prices reached their peak nationally under Bush in 2008 at just about $4.10 per gallon. 6 years later under Obama the national average retail price is $3.08 per gallon, a full 25% less. That retail price includes increases in the tax on gasoline that have been adopted in virtually every state since 2008, so the actual price of gasoline excluding taxes has gone down more than 25%. The lowest prices near my home have dropped to $2.89 per gallon, the lowest in about 8 years!

Water power in reverse is a very viable means of storing energy that can be recovered when solar or wind are unavailable. The energy used to pump water to high elevation storage and can be recovered when needed. One topic I don't see at all in the comments on petroleum, is its use as a raw material for making all kinds of things from medicine to plastics, from shampoo to synthetic cloth, and latex paint to linoleum. Organic chemistry is built around the use of petroleum to manufacturer literally thousands of different products essential to modern society. Burning petroleum may make sense short term, but long term it is much more valuable as a raw material for manufacturing synthetic materials not found in nature. For future generations we should conserve this valuable resource as much as possible.

God's repair process includes doing away with most of the current species and starting over. He does this every few million years or so. Life on this planet doesn't come with any guarantees.

It's interesting that when the two petroleum experts and investors, Bush and Chaney took office the retail price of gasoline was $0.99 per gallon; when they left office it was $2.99 per gallon where I live. Currently the USA has so much crude and refined petroleum that we are exporting gasoline and crude oil for the first time in 30 years or more. All of the largest oil companies are multinationals and they send their petroleum products where they get the most return. They have absolutely no allegiance to The USA or any other country for that matter. It is also interesting that reduced gasoline consumption over the past few years has forced states and the federal government increase taxes on gasoline to maintain income for highway construction and maintenance. The retail price of gasoline is the product of a number of factors, many of which the government has little control. Ten years ago who would have dreamed that fracking would have such an impact on oil and gas production especially in North Dakota

The obvious answer to 9-11 is just looking at the origin country of the bulk of the hijackers, 15 of the 19 were from Saudi Arabia. Osama ben Laden was a member of Saudi Arabia's royal family and sponsored his terrorism using money he received as a member of the royal family. Saudi Arabia has some of the most barbaric Islamic laws in the world, and is the source of most the money supporting terrorism in the Middle East. Say no more, and stop looking for some kind of conspiracy within The USA

Right on! This is the way designers of the Constitution designed the system. The House of Representatives is the peoples House and is less responsive to the needs of the nation as a whole and more responsive to the political and economic needs of their district. That's why were are still making tanks that the military doesn't want and are an outmoded instrument of war; they are being made in the district of some powerful representative's district in Ohio. The Senate on the other hand is elected for longer terms so they can be more deliberative and less political, protecting the long term interests of the country as a whole. If the senate were to go along with every bill sent to them by the House, it would defeat the intentions of The Constitution.

O was the spawn of a spoiled little rebellious daughter of wealthy parents and a known black C*******t, watched by the FBI. He attended an extremely expensive private high school in Hawaii. His life has been a 24/7 stoner party. His cabinet has the same type of Wall Street thieves that Bush the younger had. So, if you think he cares for your welfare, you truly are blind. He is of the privileged class.

And you think your senator or representative is not part of the privilege class, vertically every senator is a multimillionaire and most of the representative are also. Many are also the product of high priced universities as well. The worst part is that when they retire or are v**ed out of office, they come back to Capital Hill as high paid lobbyist. They really look after themselves first and the interest of The USA last. As far as Obama's personal life goes, you know very little and are just regurgitating the garbage you heard on FOX TV.
