The contards are between the rock and the hard place, knowing that if they shut government down, they get blamed. If they try impeachment, they llok like fools, and they will lose. If the leadership does nothing, the wingnut extremists will cry and the in-fighting will continue, and nothing will get done.

Personally, no matter who is in the White House, there is nothing better for the country than to have government shut down. As long as government is shut down, they are doing us no harm. When in session, they hand all sorts of horrid policies, laws, edicts, orders, etc. out to us. I want the GOP to totally ignore Obama and withhold all funds needed to carry out all of his ridiculous and dangerous policies. That's all they need to do. Defund Obamacare. Defund his immigration "plans" that are not plans, but panic. Defund the EPA, the B*M, the DEPT. of Education, and stop all foreign aid. No explanations needed for any and all of the above. Now THAT would be a government I could almost willingly support. I'd also appreciate their kicking the UN out of America. The UN serves no useful purpose, and it takes advantage of us.

Those Presidents who executed executive orders were small corrections, or resolving issues resulting from a law/bill passed by Congress. The President has prosecutorial desecration in modifying laws/bills passed by Congress. The President does not have the authority to make law himself, like Obama is doing...that is against the Constitution. These other executive orders issued by previous Presidents follow the prosecutorial desecration rule and do not violate the Constitution.
